Move Escort Mode To Fp

Escort mode has no place in quick play. I would like to know how many other players feel that it should be moved to Faction Play where it would fit in better.


Personally I'd be in favor of just getting rid of it all together as it is a horrible game mode that does nothing to promote team play, but seeing as that's unlikely I'd rather see it in the Faction Play game mode where it would fit in a whole lot better and also give players the option to play it or not, as opposed to being forced to play a game mode that we hate. Every time I get an escort match I log out immediately afterwards and don't play for another day. It's intolerable in so many ways and it will lead to lower player numbers. I will never vote for this game mode and would love them to give us an option to opt out of it like they used to do before voting was put in. I won't be playing in anything but MRBC and scrims until it's removed.

I like escort in QP pretty much :) it might need some tweaking in the future but I'm really happy to have something different compared to the other modes :)

actually i find that escort promotes more team play than ive ever seen in this game (QP). It encourages you to actually move and not just cowardly hideNpoke, it gives nearly all mechs a role, and also encourages dynamic use of the map, ive had multiple highly enjoyable running battles where both teams fight on the move.

Overall im really impressed with escort (only played 10ish games). Scouts actually serve a useful purpose (in every other mode lights are basically superfluous as there are 1-3 places on each map that are actually used) by hunting out the team and due to the Fatlas everyone has to keep moving. I was concerned that people would suicide charge the Fatlas but i havent seen that yet.

It was the best thing in the patch and way better than domination.

Edited: my favourite QP modes are conquest and now escort, skirmish and domination are just too simple (not that the others are complex but they are more involved)

I enjoy QP-Escort just fine actually.

That being said, another mode segment being added to FP would be good in my book.

Why not both?

oh yes, because we need more reasons for players on both sides of FW to call each other OP and the game mode selection stupid

You speak as if the current 4 versions of Skirmish are better.

It should be abandoned completely and moved into the trash where it belongs.

Huh weird. I'd like to opt outta skirmish, but find Escort awesome, since it promotes teamplay in quickplay, which is novel, and nice. Kinda a shame I gotta wade through the rest of quickplay to do some escorting. I generally spend all my time in CW instead.

Problem is that its luck based! Based on what path the atlas chooses.
It does not torso twist!
And is it xl? I have seen itt faling over fro st loss.

The amount of stupid I have witnessed in Escort mode exceeds what I normally see in other modes. It is a fine mode to be played in GQ, but in SQ, I would not wish to have anything to do with it.

I liked the idea, personally, but I'm honestly surprised that the devs opted to make the Atlas an AI controlled mech. It would have been better if it were an assault chosen at random or the slowest mech in a given team. No complaints about "Dumb AI", you just have dumb players.

I welcome any game mode that isn't yet another flavor of "Kill-them-all"

It's pretty OK. Main bad thing I've noticed, my Mist Lynx works pretty nice on other gamemodes but not in escort. Escort games are pretty quick and Mist Lynx can't fire enouh times in that, nor suck up damage.

It's quite a lot better than if people would play individual player. The VIP mech doesn't care about complains, but people do.

When they announced Escort I thought "What a terrible idea".

After a few playthroughts I have to say that I would still prefere somehting like a mobile HQ over a Battlemech but overall the mode is good.

What is realy importend are the players. Teams that don't coordinate either by just going in a group or fan out to search or by communicating directly via chat or voip are failing.
So the "fun" of this mode realy depends on cooperation and coordination. Something people in QP are not used to. That dosn't mean the mode itself is bad....its people who aren't willing to coordinate and talk to each other.
(and when you talk...choose a language that most people will undestand...I look at you french and russian players)

So should Escort be moved? NO
People who log out just because they don't like the mode should be banned for a week or so. I hate assault for example but I would never log out because of that. Its unfair for the whole team.

Honestly QP has no place in MWO in it's current state.

Faction Play SHOULD be the primary mode of this game, but instead, the masses flock to QP... which causes FP to die a painful death.

QP should be non-ranked, SLOW progression matches. The money should be in FP modes and there should be a larger push to FP as the primary mode of play and where to make the most money.

But instead, there's a focus on QP, and the mode this game was supposed to be based around, suffers horribly for it.
