With The Removal Of Quirks....

When the skills get redone and we lose all our quirks, will we still be able to get the same level of mobility/structure quirks that we enjoyed before? The quirks added to the atlas for example really made that mech great again for tanking and brawling....Is it still going to be possible to get that level of movement/strutcture quirks and still have bonuses to weapons? (AC20 velocity range ETC)

ANd what about mechs like the awesome that got really good for slinging PPCS with the 50% velocity quirk.....

And and evne better question, what about mechs that arguably dont really need them? Like my Ebon....I could see adding weapon specific ones to make up for the loss of Modules like rate of fire for gauss but giving that thing something like structure buffs or acceleration buffs would make an already REALLY nice chassis even better.

not all quirks are being removed, some baselines will remain for mechs like the victor and hunchbacks that will keep them from being completely obsoleted in theory

we know hunchback 4G will keep all its ac20 quirks for example

Honesty I hope you can get the level of tankiness you talk about HOWEVER it should not be able to get guns with tankiness, mobility, and agility....no this is where the skill tree needs to fix this quirking BS....you can't have everything going for your mech, you should be able to choose a few things but not every single benefit some get now.


If you choose say burn duration, heat efficiency, and mobilty in say the Grasshopper, you lose the good structure. Aka YOU chose fire power over survival. This adds risk reward to everybuid ect.

YES stuff like this I'd like Id go for Energy range/mobility on pretty much all my mechs. I hope there is some balance...

Because I could think of some nasty combos for clan mechs...duration buffs, heat reduction buffs.....with mobility? that would be pretty scary.

of course this could also help you really spec out mechs for whatever weapons they happen to use without having any unessisary quirks...Like the stupid LRM quirks added to my maulers. I drive maulers to boat autocannons, not fire crappy LRMS...I could get them back to thier pre nerf status.

Quirks are staying. The system didn't simplify the game variables as much as one had hoped.

So let me get this straight ? We are keeping quirks and adding a quirk builder AKA skill tree ? Does that seem a little excessive to anyone else ?

Not really I think .Afaik, there was a tweet from Mr. Bullock stating something along the Lines of : They are aware some Chassis' will be pretty much useless once quirks are gone, and they would therefore looking into workin on their Basestats .

When El Bandito says "Quirks are staying", he is sadly just sowing confusion, since they are NOT . All Quirks will be gone . Basestats of certain Chassis may/will get changed .

As far as I understand it, some baseline quirks are being built-in into the base mechs, and the rest will be in the skill tree.. I just hope there will be enough skill slots to have all the modules needed..

Like Radar derp and Advanced zoom..
