For instance I have a few different builds that I like to use on the Kodiak and Centurion and would really like it if I didnt have to manually change everything around each time I fancy playing with a different setup.
Thanks in advance.

If this get added we also need unit wide loadouts and dropdeck builds.
Also implement the ability to share them by a Loadout-String or something alike.

The built in game feature for doing what you want is called "buy more of the same mech". This unique and intuitive feature allows the customer to acquire as many mechs as may be desired so as to provide the convenience of having unique load outs on each. So want a Kodiak-3 daka load out and a gauss/ppc meta monster? Well, with PGI's innovative "buy more of the same mech" feature you can have both! You just buy one for each load out! This handy and useful function is the paradigm of F2P gaming and the latest in player convenience. So take advantage of it today and "buy more of the same mech"! Don't worry we won't nerf that chassis in to the ground after you have bought a few...you can trust us.

If they at least made a dropdown mech variants I'd not be mad, but I simply hate having more of the same mech now as it is now, they just clutter the menu

Yeah. About the best you can do is use the favorites filter. Other than that...?

Next will be a loadout slot, for roughly 350mc.
Soon .
A bargain is you ask me.

Well sure is time they implemented this.. Nobody's gonna buy more than one variant of the same mech chassis when the new skill tree is released anyway..

What makes you think so?
It seems to me that if we believe the fundamentals of the squirks tree presentation and that something close to it is what we end up getting, then the system as I understand it would encourage the opposite behavior. I mean lets face it in every weight class and even within every chassis is a variant that stands out above the others.
In such a system I can totally see folks maxing out the squirks for example a Kodiak 3 to be a daka build, and then buying another to squirk out as a gauss/ppc poker. Same thing with something like a Grasshopper 5P, squirk one to focus as a PPC jump sniper (those high shoulder mounts), and one to maybe run ERLL, and maybe even yet another one to run LPLs/ML.
Anyway, it will all depend I guess on the base line quirks that Russ said will still be a part of under performing mechs, but I think they will need to include some differentiating base line quirks even for some decent mechs just to make them functionally distinct (thinking especially of the nearly energy exclusive resistance mechs in particular).
Sorry to go off topic.

You have it backwards. You're going to have to buy multiples of the same mech to run different loadouts without constant respecs.

With skill tree, the need for this is diminished, though.

It starts with: EVERY Item EVERY player owns would have to have/receive its OWN, UNIQUE identifier....for several checks that have to be done when switching loadouts on the fly . Also, this feature would create severe load increase...database calls and stuff to have to be written to DB would increase HPG ( manyfold XD ) . And some other stuff would have to be considered ( probably has been considered ), and the end of the process will probably be the convenience won does not justify the effort required .
So,while I wholeheartedly agree it would be a really, REALLY handy thing to have,be easy on the devs re this one .
In the meantime, use smurfy's to keep your loadouts .
