In a nutshell, that explains why the IS gets roflstomped in Faction Play.. (Yes I know balance favors clans, but the issue is exacerbated by this)

IS need the Toyama, the Dragoon, the Night Star, the Penetrator, the Marauder II, the Blackhawk-KU (yes, this one would be great)...instead people want crap like the Crusader, mini-Phoenix Hawks, and f*cking Assassins.

Ugh...

My issue is I just don't want a flood of IIc's like get the basics and the Phoenixhawk IIC does not feel like a must have IIC in game. Warhammer IIC and Rifleman IIC are better options. And I jusy don't want to see tons of these added back to back all because reasons. I took a leave from MWO after we had months of boring mechs.

Pixie IIC > Rifleman IIC (which is too slow)

Warhammer and Rifleman IIc gonna do the same thing as the Pheonix Hawk IIC, gonna have good highmounts to take advantage of energy or ballistics, or both. As I said in one thread theirs gonna be four monsters released in the game sooner or later...

And they gonna be Warhammer, Phoenix Hawk, Rifleman, and Locust IIC battlemechs.

I'm not super sold on the Toyama, but the Dragoon, while ugly, could jump snipe with dual gauss. Wouldn't the Penetrator just be 100% pure laser vomit? I guess you can an ECM variant.. but still. Marauder II... I could see PGI having that one come out next December, making it the 3rd Marauder version released in December.. lol.

  • January: Bushwacker
  • February: Supernova
  • March: Assassin
  • April: Roughneck
At that point, we're getting some new light mechs.
The game currently has 7 Clan mediums, 7 Clan heavies, 7 clan assaults and 5 Clan lights. Clans will have 8 assaults after February.
On the Inner Sphere side, 13 mediums, 13 heavies, 11 assaults and 9 light mechs. IS will have 16 different mediums after April.

In other words, it seems likely that we're getting at least 2 new Clan lights and 2 new IS lights. Unless PGI changes the MWO business model, this means it'll probably go something like this:
  • May: Clan light
  • June: IS light
  • July: Clan light
  • August: IS light
Then we have 4 months of more heavies and assaults, I would imagine. Maybe another Clan medium.

For example:
  • September: Warhammer IIC
  • October: Annihilator
  • November: Rifleman IIC
  • December: Mad Cat Mk 2
As for performance predictions, I would say it's hard for any new IS or Clan light mech to outperform the top light mechs already in the game, except maybe the Piranha. I've scoured Sarna for a new light mech that I would like to buy, but I can't find any. The advantages of the Firemoth are kind of pointless in MWO, unless it turns out to be a hyper-Locust that nobody can actually hit.

I would be ok with this! Who knows maybe PGI will do a double light pack and shorten that list by two months or better!

She'd be tanky though with that 300 standard engine... though three JJ's on a 100t mech does not fill me with hope.... Rather a profound sense of disappointment.

Gonna watch that soon, also planning to pick up some old Legends books to read soon, mostly from Dark Horse's Old Republic timeline books, Darth Bane trilogy, and Thrawn's Trilogy then the new Lucasart stories.

The Thrawn trilogy is the best... also happy note, Thrawn is canon again! Thank you Star Wars Rebels!

Everything written by Michael A. Stackpole and Timothy Zahn is good IMO for the Star Wars EU. Own the entire X-Wing book series, read it at least 6 times.

What IS didn't get any love? Unseens released with much praise (all but Archer but hey...UNSEEN's!) Cyclops came in well, considering many were nervous about how it would perform. Bushwacker has been asked about for ages and is finally coming in. Think alot of IS Mechwarriors were pleased with the past years as well.

I Agree. The mechs I am most looking forward to now are out of the 3055 TRO and mostly IS. The Stealth, Tempest, War Dog and Cerberus to name my top picks. The only Clan mechs I want to see are either the Gosshawk (Vapor Eagle) or the Hellhound (Conjurer) and of course the Light Battlemech Vixen (Incubus). I will say again though, I really want to see the IS mechs from the 3055 TRO and again IS MECHS FROM THE 3055 TRO.

The issue with the Dragoon is that all of its firepower us in the arms. There's nothing for you to strip for efficiency. As a jump sniper, it would still be down 10 damage from the NTG, too.

The Toyama, while it can't jump, does let you strip one arm, shove a Gauss in the other, and stuff two PPCs in the left torso. You can safely run the Gauss and XL and still get high-mounted energy, something no other IS Heavy can do. Something no IS Assault can do. On top of all this, it has ECM.

Laser vomit is the only thing the IS remotely compete on, so the Penetrator would be a welcome addition.

This might actually be better than the Toyama for what you want: http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Dragon_Fire

I actually like Thrawn's character so much, I just hope they do him good and not kill him off in the season he should have his own movie.

I was wondering if the X-Wing series is good I'll pick that one up too and binge read it.

No JJs on the Toyama though :( Although now that I take a close look at the Toyama's hardpoint layout, I agree it looks more attractive.

Yeah, don't get me wrong, as far as I can tell there isn't really a better option either way. As far as IS assaults go, the Sunder and Nightstar are all I'm really interested in right now.

Clans on the other hand:

Kingfisher
Turkina
Mad Cat Mk. II
Blood Asp (eventually)

Maybe someone could slap some Ebon arms on a MadIIC. It could give us an idea of how wide the Nightstar would be.
