And still somehow menage to get descent damage and kills..
It would be nice if people recognized opportunities and pushes, and took those chances.. but potatoes be potatoes..
Most people would rather engage in a never-ending snipe-off..

I feel like when I first hit tier 2 a few months back the tactics and positioning were on point, but now it just feels like a snorefest and a match of who has the least amount of potatoes, as we so call them, with such things gone out the window. What happened?
Crazy how Tier 1 play = Tier 5 play. That shows the Tiers need a reset and/or the score calculator for the PSR needs tweaking.

In PUGlandia, I like to live in the state of having fun. I mostly main a Jenner and I play it HOW THE FRACK I WANT TO. Usually I get pretty decent scores too. You aren't always going to get 4 kills and 600+ a game in a Light Mech, but you can have fun. What's fun for me in PUGlandia is not waiting on the team to approach or waiting on the Assaults to share armor, but getting out there and harrassing the campers on the other team who can't do jack about me.
I know most habitants of PUGlandia are confused thinking they live in Complandia, when they really don't. What's really unfortunate is some people in PUGlandia live in south PUGlandia. We call that place Statchasinglandia. That is def not a fun place to stay in. Alot of hot air hovers over that spot 365 days a year. Sometimes you get a few tear showers. While in PUGlandia, it's always a sunny day for some of us.
Videos of me having fun. You can too. I promise! Play the game for fun. Not for a meta or for stats.

Unfortunately, sometimes I hear a call for push, I commit and find only 2 of us inside, all whilst the guy calling for a push is at the back sniping.

Yep. Basic rule of MWO, when someone calls for a push, find them and stand behind them. If they want a push they better be willing to lead it.

I would love to be in the thick of the fight, not madly chasing the pack.
Sometimes and just sometimes in quick play you can convince the team to NASCAR back towards your direction by pointing out that the enemy formation is also a long conga line with light stuff up front and big stuff in the rear.
If your team quickly reverses direction your formation will be big stuff facing their small stuff with your small stuff arriving slightly before the enemy big stuff. In other words A GOOD IDEA!

The assaults are typically the slowest mechs in the match. What I generally observe is the rest of the team racing ahead to, (usually the center of the map), and leaving the assaults behind. This kind of non-strategic behavior cascades into John Doe the assault mech pilot not really wanting to engage, since he has, (on the average), just watched several of his team mates get smoked before he could get into the battle. This leads into the hiding part of the OP's topic.... you watch your team mates die before you can engage and you naturally want to bunker down somewhere.
IMHO of course.
I could be way off mark here...

Matches like that are increasingly common lately, I think it started around 3 months ago and just keeps getting worse. Situations where there's single enemy assault mech behind corner and you are with teammate, but when you attack and go behind that lone enemy mech that teammate just stands there hiding behind corner and lets you die and dies shortly after too.
I don't mind losing, but matches where your team simply refuses to engage enemy are complete **** and saps my will to play this game. It's especially bad in assault and skirmish where there isn't any game mechanic ending the match quickly if your team decides that they don't want to participate in the match.

Most likely, the MM gates have been completely opened, and all Tiers are mixed at this point. I've felt its been this way for a couple of months now. Not enough players to sustain the old separated Tier model...

Yes there is a race sometimes to get to the enemy, but I hardly see anyone engage first second or third. I've seen matches where no shots are fired until the last 5 minutes.
I'm sure you have seen this in Domination mode where one team runs the clock down from the start and no one stops it.

No that's not bad game design, that's MechWarrior. And if you are being killed by a Light Mech solo, you might need to switch off LRMs or drop down to a Heavy. That is really not the fault of your team, when you lose 100 tons of weight because a 30 ton enemy sneezed on you.
