I thought it was 10 no?

You are correct, the timer drops to 10 seconds once all players have connected.

And like I said, if the last one connect while counter is at 1 second, it goes up to 10 again.

there could at least be some reduction. You have to wait for matchmaking, you have to wait for voting, for map loading, for the ready button and for dropping itself.

Sure you can't fasten loading and searching times but at least the voting could be streamlined... maybe we could make a preselection, like favorites or some kind of personal priorities that auto-vote or so.

And the ready button can go completely. when evreryone is connected, there is no need to wait those extra 8 seconds.

Or they could just let us choose what maps we want to play, like we should have been able to do since Alpha. Wait no I forgot, the games so badly designed that knowing what environment we are going to play in is enough to completely and utterly break everything (or so certain people inevitably scream when this glaring shortcoming gets mentioned).

this would actually lead to longer wait times.

So, I don't play a lot, but I think it would be nice if we gave people with slow machines time to get into game.

Apoggee games played per season.
120 Season 6
250 Season 5
471 Season 4
199 Season 3
188 Season 2
54 Season 1

So prior to season 1 you played 12,118 matches? Is there someplace other than the stats boards I can look to verify the 13,400 it would help me out when I start to log the pilots not connecting when I start to look at there public profiles for a pattern.

With the all the emotion its almost like you're upset that I'm going to actually take the time to look for a pattern to this issue, is there something you would like to tell everyone?

Feel free to waste your time... because honestly i have no clue to what you think you will accomplish by doing that..

I have ZERO issue with waiting,, because the game already drops the timer once everyone is connected.. the only time it goes full time is when people are NOT connected yet..

and no, you can't look up player stats before they added the boards.. But between both accounts i have close to 7k matches... but.. i also don't get DC very often either...

If you are seriously so impatient that you can't wait for players to connect + 10 seconds, there is no hope for you. Waiting for things that are actually important in life will destroy your weak and impatient mind.

The internet is a strange and sometimes incomprehensible thing. I am usually in the first batch connected. But sometimes I suddenly end up with a game where I am the last one or even come in after the game launched. And then th enext game I am back to normal. The timer at 70 seconds is fine by me.

I would like to point out that that the top player this season has played over 1100 matches.
I personally have played 434.

The people that seem to take issue with this post:

Shuri Tuski - 134 matches
Prosperity Park - 59 matches
Appogee - 120 matches
El Bandito - 25 matches

I'm already starting to see a pattern here not sure what it means yet.

Bottom line, they have a life other than MWO...

Allow dedicated servers like a proper pc game and let players run their own rooms with their own map play lists then? Random Match Making as the only option in a competitive pc game is and always has been an abomination that leads to numerous problems. Sure dedicateds aren't easy to do, but smaller studios than PGI are doing them and frankly competitive pc games without them are incomplete in my eyes.

Putting that aside however, there are plenty of ways to address any issues map selection would cause in regards to wait times. For starters unpopular maps could have cbill and exp bonuses attached to them that increase based on how long the maps queue has been low. More importantly however if certain maps were still completely barren then that's a pretty damn solid indication that the community as a whole simply hates something intrinsic about its design and PGI should take the hint.

I'm sure someone is going to look up my past stats so I'll be upfront, you'll notice that I've been a member since Feb, 2012 and not until the end of Season 5 on into Season 6 have I started to play again. I will tell you that one of the reason I did stop playing back then was because I was already annoyed with long wait times and then they implemented the tonnage balancing scheme and the waiting got so bad at first I just stopped playing.

People come on the forums to announce that they are quitting for some reason or another. Most quit out right because of balance issues. Never have I witnessed wait times to the culprit.
