This might sound a bit stupid... I dont play faction much. I have no idea how I join a skirmish match on faction play...

The main reason i still dont play it is that the UI is still horrible.

So.... how do I do it?

Open the Faction Play tab.
Click on "Fight Now".
In the window on the left, it will show you the status of the Tug of War.
It will also state the match type currently being fought.
If the Tug of War pointer is in the 'skirmish' stage, it will show the match type as "skirmish".
If you click "Fight Now" on the left, you'll be queuing for a Invasion Skirmish match.

Haven't gotten a Skirmish match yet... and been playing for hours

So I have just less than 3 and a half hours to wait for a slider to move on the off chance that it might say Skirmish...

Honestly the conquest drops aren't that bad. Even if you do get pretty stomped as one side or the other you can still manage to keep map control and points. Not everything has to be skirmish..

Try waiting for the next war phase or whatever it's called. Should be less than an hour from now. It's always Skirmish first

I'm not saying it does. But the event is saying it does.

I like a lot of the game modes, but I just find that FW is tedious at best.

Oh, you are totally right. I forgot about the 12 days event; I looked at most of the requirements, scoffed because they are stupid, and decided to ignore it rather than deal with the headache of getting the right kinds of matches and such. My bad.

No worries. I've started thinking the same. I didnt manage to get the scouting one, nor todays. So I've decided the same.
