Had an idea so did this quick. I wanted to try a mech in Alex's art style and this one seemed easy. Since clan mechs tend to use the same arms and legs on multiple mechs I started with the arms and legs of the Adder and designed the torso.

I like it! Definitely a good revision, and considering the Cougar is Adder 2.0 it fits well! +1

Nicely done Posted Image And yes, using the Adder's arms and legs is totally fine. They do this in the fluff to make the design process faster and less expensive.

I've wanted this mech for a long time. It really won't be all that good (slower Adder doesn't sound very good does it?), but it's so pretty and at least some of the variants have inflated hard points (4E arm for example) to boat lasers and make it more useful. As long as the hero had jump jets I'd probably buy it for MW4 nostalgia reasons alone Posted Image

A little wide in the side torsos, making it very easy for you to lose almost all your weapons in very short order, but that's a gameplay nitpick.

In terms of pure art style, I've always loved the Cougar ever since I played it back in MechAssault. Yeah yeah I know, ~boo MechAssault~ and all that. Whatever, I didn't get into MW3 and 4 when they came out initially. I finally got the whole MW4 set back around like 2006.

That said, this is probably very close to what Alex would probably put out so good on you for mimicing his art style.

Nice.

Gotta admit though, the title made me think of an old lady playing MWO to pick up guys.

Can you do the Fire Moth in MWO aesthetics since the Mist Lynx was based off it?

I will look into working on those two and maybe some others. Not sure how quick the turnaround will be on these though.

I didn't know that MWO had its own brand of monasticism. What exactly is an MWO-style Ascetic?

I would like to see how Alex would make a Cougar with the MWO aesthetic, but that's a separate issue and so not appropriate to a thread about asceticism.

Well alot of.Omni mechs share a simular design for Clans and it makes sense, some arms and legs are cross compatible with other chassis. MWO flair means trying to replicate Alex's art style mainly also.

I'd call the Cougar Adder 3.0, as Adder 2.0 really is the Pouncer....

Honestly, I'd like to see two more clan 40t omni's added, but for different reasons...

We already have the Viper, something built for the Kult of Speed (see WH40K Orkz)

The Pouncer is the Gunbag, a heavy mech in a medium mech's body, great for Flash Gitz (see WH40k Orkz)

The Coyolt is a happy medium (heh), between the Pouncer and Viper... Only made obsolete due to the publication it was put in, due to that publication coming out so long after TRO 3050, and the clans needing a reason to not have used them in the invasion....

I'm amazed I don't get more targeted ads for certain dating sites, given how much I talk about wanting Cougars for MWO...

Aye, the Coyotl is another solid choice. Reminds me of a smaller Bushwacker.
