Accused Of Being A Tryhard

I just had a match where I was accused of being a Tryhard for using a Kodiak. The chat was full of people upset that I was using a Kodiak. I was the last one alive and won the match, along w/ the Shadowhawk who followed me on my flanking maneuver behind the enemy.
I've always thought of myself as a casual mediocre player, possibly a potatoe. Definitely not a Tryhard. I think I've only ever scored above 1000 w/ my KDK-3 a couple of times. So, the KDK-3 has become too good, even in my hands... Are KDK-3's going to be relegated to the same dusty hangers as Gold mechs? Will we start getting TKed in the back just for bringing them?

People get annoyed when KDK-3 players act like they're super elite players because they got a good match score, and people especially get annoyed when KDK-3 players say stuff like "wow, my team sucks, I'm the only one who did more than 500 damage". Some people just get angry about anything though. They get angry at LRM boats, they get angry at light mechs, they get angry at dual gauss, they get angry at NARCs... who cares.
It's just a game. One shouldn't take it seriously, and one shouldn't take the people who take it seriously seriously.

Wha?
If a "tryhard" (which has always struck me as a fairly unimaginative insult and in fact a compliment) is someone who runs a Kodiak, does that mean the, like, remaining three people who have yet to run one are the only non-tryhards.
That is stupid.

If it was the enemy team, just tell them their tears will be used to refill your Cool Shots. On the other hand, if it was your teammates complaining that you carried their sorry arses to victory . . . well, I don't think you should worry about it too much.

Literal mountains of salt, man.
@OP:
Drink in the salty tears of the pugs as you wreck their faces in. KDK-3 is good at what it does, but is by no means OP if you deal with it correctly. If they aren't capable of plopping a NARC on you and LRMing you to death, or focus firing your squishy squishy CT, then they deserve to get stomped.
Just as potatoes gonna potate, haters are gonna hate. It's a fact. Whatever happens, just remember that you can use whatever the hell you damn well please.

If you were there, this thread wouldn't exist. You need to quit trying and start doing.

The tryhard insult is nonsensical.

I went to a private art school that basically said that if you want to do the above you need to be better than those around you, because talent will only get you so far. Also it is really hard to continue to enjoy what you do with mediocre results. The school was rated #2 in the US for most homework assigned. The "tryhard" experience in a typically feel good environment has made me learn to always play at my best. This is because you learn that competition is about not blaming others, but realizing what you can do to be better. (I think the school also had a saying about "if it was for fun we would have more glue guns and cut felt")
Nobody needs to apologize for not being a C student. I have made many Cs in my education, but I never blamed the A students.
