I just had a match where I was accused of being a Tryhard for using a Kodiak. The chat was full of people upset that I was using a Kodiak. I was the last one alive and won the match, along w/ the Shadowhawk who followed me on my flanking maneuver behind the enemy.
I've always thought of myself as a casual mediocre player, possibly a potatoe. Definitely not a Tryhard. I think I've only ever scored above 1000 w/ my KDK-3 a couple of times. So, the KDK-3 has become too good, even in my hands... Are KDK-3's going to be relegated to the same dusty hangers as Gold mechs? Will we start getting TKed in the back just for bringing them?
Why do you care what whiny folks in the game care, who obviously have self-esteem issues if they feel the need to lash out at someone for using an option that's part of the game. The block feature is great for that kind of nonsense. Instant cure for saltiness.

You can't cure saltiness. Only dilute it.

I'd respect those high skill players a lot more if they were running an average or bad mech and still doing great.
Low skill players running Tier 1 meta builds though? Those I derive amusement from, because it still doesn't save them from being bad.
Eg, the other day I was running my BJ-2 Blackjack when I encountered a Warhammer 6R running the dual PPC/UAC5 build.
This guy was just terrible; I pushed up to him and started hitting him with SRMs, and he was still shooting me with PPCs under the 90 meter minimum range.
He didn't try at all to shield his right torso I was focusing my fire on, and he died easily due to XL engine destruction. Only reason I didn't kill him even faster was I had to be cautious due to his teammates nearby... teammates he failed to take advantage of by backing up.

Even better is when you build something off the wall, but viable. Currently playing with a hbk-4sp using laser spam and a NARC. It's actually fun what little I've done with it so far. Just need to work on the whole not leading the charge in the hopes the narcs on everything before i go up get them peekaboos moving in :3

I very much doubt the individual Mech XP is going to get refunded as GXP.
Ie. all you are doing is earning more XP for your KDK-3, not building up a bank of future GXP.

I think you're right and was actually said by Russ. Makes the most sense at any rate.

I think they mentioned ALL the accumulated xp is transferred into legacy xp, which works like gxp.
And to the actual point of the thread: Stop tryharding not being a tryhard.

No, this is the quote.
"All Past module purchases will be refunded to you in whole, and all GXP and 'Mech XP spent on skill or module unlocks will be carried over as 'Legay GXP'"
Spent being the key word there.

I'm not one of the ppl with millions or more of xp sitting on some mechs, but still it seems unfair to the ppl dedicated to some few mechs. If they have played hundreds of hours they should be able to max out the trees of their desire.

I think you are still going to have your mech XP to spend. Whatever is accumulated on your mechs will still be there after the switch.
Its just that anything you spent will be returned to you as legacy gxp, which I'm assuming will work like normal gxp and can be spent on anything.
So the thought process for right now is spend all the mech XP that you can so it all comes back to you as Legacy GXP.

If it was the enemy team, just tell them their tears will be used to refill your Cool Shots. On the other hand, if it was your teammates complaining that you carried their sorry arses to victory . . . well, I don't think you should worry about it too much.
It was the enemy team who were in All chat complaining about the OP Kodiak ruining their lives...
It was just surprising because it was the first time in a match where I saw players complain about someone bringing a Kodiak, let alone multiple players.
In the end, I don't care what they think. I just thought it good info to share on current players moods.

Least helpful and most arrogant pile-of-codswallop response I've seen . You do realize there is no obligation to actual respond to people's posts, right? Not responding is probably a more useful decision then masking a need to correct other people by responding with some pop psychology Yoda-esque comment about how they should "solve their problem by not having the problem in the first place".
The time and the place for that advice is before a post goes up. For example, when a friend says "I'm bothered by this, should I post something?", you can swoop in and play Dr. Phil and help them realize they don't actually need to put so much value on other people's opinions. But when somebody has already made the thread because they want a little validation after having a negative experience you really shouldn't demean their need for it. We all have times when we need a bit of support. That's one of the roles of any community.

What actually happened is someone accusing you of being better and more knowledgeble than them in this game.
That is all.
Take pride m8.

How dare they try to win! How dare they! It's like they are trying to do their best. They cannot do that!
Excelling in a sea of mediocrity is not allowed in this special snowflake, participation trophy society.
If you are not part of the lowest common denominator your an exile, ostracized.
