Why waste ammo and armor on turrets when you don't even get any sort of rewards for damaging it? Like I could damage it from 100% down to 2%, take all the hits and some random guy 500m+ can snipe the remaining 2% and grab all the rewards? I know this is pretty trivial stuff, but it's really discouraging to even bother, because I know, I'm only gonna be "wasting" ammo/armor/heat when I won't even get rewards when someone else gets the kill. At least make damage dealt to turrets count on your overall damage

You don't shoot it primarily for the mere 1000 cbills and 50 exp... you shoot it to reduce dmg to yourself and your team. That burn on lights hurt with the perfect accuracy, so you don't want it firing multiple times for free. And most clash zones tend to have turrets

  • LocationStill doing ungodly amount of damage, but with more accuracy.

What's more demoralizing is the fact I managed to take out six CW defense turrets (those are tough) in the enemy base, alone, but those did not count towards my match damage score. Posted Image

That is true for sure, but why bother when someone else in your team can do it? Why expose yourself to turret fire and spend ammo/heat when the guy next to you can do it themselves? Besides, it's a huge slap in the face when you literally lose a leg trying to take out that Turret, only for someone to deliver the finishing blow, taking all the credit with them and you left with a single leg. At least give people an incentive to do make an effort to take them out.
It's similar to how Conquest back in the days. Why miss out on the fun, capping and not getting any sort of individual reward other than for the sake of not losing?

I have a better philosophy.....

If on attack (I mainly play lights) i will not move from the spawn point until the Heavy and assault mechs take afew out. I am over with the turrets being auto hit CT seeking beams of death. Some maps are worst than others. But as a light.... I dread Escort mode almost to the point where I will not play it.... Domination is a close second. These two modes have done absolutely nothing for light mechs.
