CPLT-C4 "Nek-chan"
Originally, I was gonna rename this to "Mad Cat" due to it's very similar appearance to the Timberwolf, but they announced the Clanner's arrival, so I picked a weeb name instead and went for "Neko" which literally means Cat
JM6-S "E Yeagermech"
I was HUGE on Attack on Kyojin/Shingeki no Titan back then (pun heavily implied) and the word "Jager" instantly reminded me of the show's protagonist; Eren Yeager. Also the "E" stands for Eren if that wasn't clear enough
SDR-5K "BIG BAD DAWG"
SDR-5D "Delta Spider"
I'm started becoming very original with my names and went for the military phoentic alphabet for their variant
CN9-A(C) "Fenix"
Named after the great Praetor Fenix of the Protoss. Excellent survivability, great firepower (at the time) for it's weight and the brawly gameplay immediately reminded me of the Protoss Zealots, and who other than Fenix himself would make an excellent candidate to represent them? Besides, the proportions as shown here kinda does resembles the Centurions
HBK-4P "Reiterpallas"
It's supposed to be "Reiterpallasch", the name of the Armored Core used by Wynne D. from Armored Core For Answer, but we can only have 12 cahracters, What the HBK-RP and the Reiterpallasch have in common is their impressive weaponry of energy weapons. That and Wynne D. has got to be my second favorite after May <3
TDR-9S "Lightning"
Named after Lightning from FF13. She's too perfect. I'm so gay for her <3 This was also around the time when I first played FF13 (my first FF game) and I really had no other name that would top this one off. Also it reminds me of Bohemian Rhapsody "Thunderbolts and Lightning"
SDR-5V "ViperSipder2"
Another example of me being creative with naming conventions. "Victor Spider" didn't sound right, so I went with "Viper" This one is actually my second SDR-5V as I sold my first SDR-5V when I got a free Mechbay but with no TDR-9S in it. Remember when PGI gave away free Mechs for winning 5 games in the weekends?
TBT-7K "Sylvia"
Named after my classmate back in art class. I ended up getting paired with her so we end up becoming close.
DWF-Prime "Daishi"
Clanner Invasion just hit, you're a freebirth scum that owns a Clanner Mech. You name it the IS designation, which is "Daishi". Direwolf are for Clanners. Besides, it was designated as "Daishi" back in MW3, so ever since childhood, I've always referred to the the DWFs as Daishi.
JM6-DD "Boomer"
Named after Boomer from Battlestar Galactica. Ever since I was a kid, I had a massive crush on the actress. Also I originally mounted AC/40s on this thing. The name is definitely fitting if you ask me
JM6-A "Starbuck"
Named after Kara Thrace aka "Starbuck" from BSG. I was rewatching BSG at the time when I bought this Mech, and Starbuck is definitely memorable. Also around the same time when I first had my Starbucks Coffee. Mocha Frapp with cream, Grande. I ended up getting some Starbucks at least once a week across the road afterschool. It was getting unhealthy and bad for my wallet, so I had to stop.
AWS-8T "Pando"
So when I first joined the unit I'm in, the 1st Hussars, one of the senior ranking officers (now the leader) named Pando Box was always seen in his Awesomes. He was just simply proficient with them. I ended up naming my Awesome after him
WVR-7K "Stella"
I wanted to name this simply as "Wolverine" since the name is pretty cool, but I wanted to be more unique. When I first had my mittens all over this Mech, it played very similar to my Centurion and I did not just well, but great! It had my highest K/D and W/L ratio. I named it "Stella", which is Star for latin. When something is a star, it's usually great, and with my Wolverine at the time, it definitely was a star
CN9-A(NCIX) "Fenix (OPS)"
It was around this time when I first started playing Scouting mode. The mode itself definitely felt like special missions that special forces would partake in. Combined this with the grayish scheme the NCIX has, I ended up naming it "Ops". The Centurion that has a similar configuration as my CN9-A(C), but focuses more on the smaller scale battles.
CN9-AL "Fenix (Lima)"
After doing REEAAAALLY well with Centurions, I decided to buy 2 others for the sake of getting Speed Tweak. I wanted this to be a quick and easy phase so I don't have to change play styles drastically. I ended up building builds similar to my CN9-As and played them the same way I would play the CN9-As, and thus, keeping the "Fenix" name but with Lima since I'm tootally original
CN9-D "Fenix (Delta)
Same story with the CN9-AL, I didn't want to change play styles so I made a build close to my CN9-A. Also Delta for the variant. Originality ftw
HBK-GI "Grid Iron"
Nothing fancy. All hero Mechs are already named, so every Hero mechs that I'll ever get will keep their Hero name.
TBR-C "Mad Cat"
Similar with the Daishi. Mad Cat is the IS designation and it's how I've always known the TBRs as.
