I bought the standard package. If I like how it plays, I'll buy the hero.

It won't be meta due to weight and how its hardpoints are split, buylt it'll be okay. The arms will be higher up than expected since the elbow is almost at the same level relative to the cockpit as the Warhammer's torso mounts.

Another 65 ton mech?
Meh.

An IS mech reliant on ballistic AND missile ammo, under 70 tons?
Meh!
Should have been a 75 tonner TBH.

Another IS mech that will need an XL in most builds capable of decent mid range firepower?
I'd rather not.

It's really a mech you buy for the looks and he concept behind it, in this case being a refitted industrial mech.

I'd buy it for the looks alone.

Who needs some fancy Omni Mech or Kodiak when you have an Industrial Mech retrofitted for combat. That's like, the most raddest thing ever. (Well, except for retrofitted agriculture mechs)

Can the Roughneck do something no other IS Heavies can do? If yes, then it is worthy of consideration. After all, 65 tons is on the lighter side, so it will need heavy quirk crutches that are subject to frequent change.

I am personally already satisfied with the Jager and the Warhammer.

instead of elementals, let's get cargo lifters like Ripley used in Aliens? ;)

Also, roughneck aside, bushfapper comes out in a month, and i am eager to destroy some fanbabymechs

I'd say it look like an overgrown shadow hawk in terms of the ballastics. The hardpoints are in a better spot, but you won't be able to boat as many. D:

No, just look at the hard points. What are you going to do with that? Really?

The only viable variant is behind the reinforcements paywall and for that amount you could already have a Scorch or Spirit Bear!

Yeah none of the variants are very interesting. If there had been a variant with ballistics in it's torsos it'd be more interesting but the arms aren't too bad.

The RGH-1A, -1C, and 2A all have ballistic right torsos, but none have ballistics in both side torsos.

Performance wise, no.

It tends to have the same problems as the Bushwacker, just with a little bit more tonnage. Biggest issues are the type of hardpoints and locations on each variant. By "location" I don't mean mounting height (which is actually good for this mech), but rather the useless arm ballistics and nearly useless head lasers.

The only variants that stand out are the Reaver and 3A, which PGI deliberately put behind the most expensive packages. Even then, though, they both are more or less just bigger Shadow Hawk 2K's with an extra shoulder beam.

I'd buy it if it had engine sound in the cockpit. The diesel growling and a whistling turbo.

Is any mech, which will eventually be released for Free/C-Bills, truly worth it? Seems like, from a value perspective, it's a foolish question for any mech.

I would just for design alone, but I'll hold off for a bit til I see an interesting IS mech waltz in *cough* *cough* Akuma *cough* *cough* Owens *cough*

Man these coughs are bad.

@Bombast: Of course, Kodiak standard package with pre-order bonus. Months and months of exclusive slaughter.

Yeah I meant both torsos. With how high those mounts look like they'll be, it'd be fun to play with.

Well, if it's any consolation, the pictures make it look like the arm cannons will be about the same height as the Warhammer's torso guns. Not bad, just can't strip the arms for more tonnage.
