its not about the ponys. the problem is that some people use the pony phenomenon as "weapon of massTrollination". ive seen often enough when theres guys invade a serious rpg forum, demanding ponys in the game, claiming they have a right to do so. well, imo they have NOT!
like WE have absolutely NO right to invade a medivial RPG forum, wanting mechs or at least hand held PPCs.

to be fair:
there are a LOT of nice and gentle people who simply like the tv-show or the cute pics and who have NO idea why other people have a problem with em or the ponys. for they have done nothing wrong/offending. imo those people deserve an explanation...

edit: im not free from this. i have a "hello kitty" sticker on my hunting crossbow too...

Don't hold your breath. The devs have allowed this thread so the anti-ponies don't troll on the normal pony thread. It's whatever, and there are some pretty funny anti-pony pics.

An explanation is not a problem. I do not go trolling them, I do not go seeking a fight but I am an old school BT player (battledroids originally in fact). While I do not seek a fight I also will not back off from one and when an old friend let me know this new MWO was happening I came and signed on. In less than an hour I was trolled by about 3 pony lovers. I then found the Eridani Light Ponies and when I darned to ask questions about it got flamed. Pony folk preach friendship is power, love, tolerance and tons of such things, yet they tolerate and support the fanatics in their midst which makes them no better than any other boot on other peoples necks demanding and trying to enforce their own preferences regardless of other peoples feelings. I've spent almost 4yrs of my life deployed to crap holes around this world sending friends home in bags and sending of fanatics and idiots to their final evals, I've been declared clinically dead twice, if anyone thinks I'm going to back off from this bunch of rainbow colored bigots they're stupid. I have friends who are furries, let one of my best troops wear a fox tail into combat, these guys kicked me in the teeth first so if I can find a way to make their game play here painful or miserable so be it. If someone is a furry, thats one thing, they usually have the common respect to let others be themselves and just be themselves in return. I've seen and experienced precious little such behavior from pony lovers. Now you have my answer at least, I'm sure others answers will be different.

I have a problem with them when they bring it into some thing TOTALY non-related place; expect those veterans of that community to accept them and are shocked when they do not. I have a problem when they invade the internet and our military and we have no place of sanctuary away from that stuff. I have a Problem when some of the actual staff of MWO pander to them. Just be careful in your explanation of why you don't like ponies as it can easily cross the border into showing disrespect and hatred towards individuals, which is a violation of the CoC. I can understand the frustrations of dealing with a phenomenon that you either have no interest in or directly violates your personal philosophy, but attacking others for it does nothing to help your cause. Especially in places like this where it is strictly limited and regulated to keep you from running face first into something you hate.
While I can't say it has never happened as I don't screen the entire forum all the time, I can say I have not seen anything posted outside the pony threads allowed because those of my fandom want to play this game and don't want to be banned before the game even goes live. I've said it before and I'll say it again; we don't come here to ruin anyone's fun, we were already here and came together because in the past if only a few show themselves they get picked off by bullies and trolls. All you gotta do is look at the MW:T forum for that, where there is no pony thread because there weren't enough of us posting to keep things active and the thread got wiped entirely.

For the record I like the show for its art-style, writing quality, and voice acting. I don't spam threads, I don't attack others, and I don't call people who hate the show fascists. I just like the show because its good, and the community even more so because of all the good it has already done; raising half a million for various charities in the first year of its existance, and giving a safe harbor for people who would otherwise be picked out and harassed online as well as in real life (I got spat on at work and called a 'sick f*g' the other day because of Howard Stern's BS commentary on Bronies). I figured I would explain why i like the show for all those in this thread who have asked.

That Howard sterns job is to pretty much blow things up and out way more than they are supposed to, but hey it's his job, and honestly I found his commentary to be hilarious, but i also find the 700 club to be hilarious so, what can I really say XD. also [insert random mlp hate photo] (I really actually went looking for one, I really couldnt find one, I wanted to join in on the hate!!)

That is from Gary's mod, it is using a burning tool on a fluttershy model hanging using the rope tool from a crudely made Hangmans noose from 2 wooden posts welded together. pretty easy to copy actually.
