The alleged "VIP" is defenceless. He must rely on others to shoot for him. He is by all accounts an 'enemy non-combatant'.

We cannot allow PGI to make war criminals of us all.

We must stop shooting him. At the very least we need to put our foot down as a community and not vote for Escort mode until something is done.

So no, I'll continue to vote for it every time I can, and you can't stop me!

VIP bumped into me and dealt 1% damage. He is a combatant!

I have seen my team go off to the other side of the map and shoot everybody but the VIP.

Oh, really? Why is that? If you don't have a good reason, then don't even try to hate people for wanting a particular mode.

Personally, I hate Skirmish and everyone's "Call of Duty/Counter-Strike/Halo/etc."-based insanity towards voting for it... But no, I don't hate people for such directly, just their mentalities, because they're still learning. Being that I started with Activision's "MechWarrior 2" and Microprose's "MechWarrior 3", I grew up with the thought/idealism that Objectives are supposed to ALWAYS be a part of things. Being that Skirmish doesn't involve anything more than fighting, and not any actual Objective, it is therefore NOT in the 'Spirit Of MechWarrior' to me. Frankly, I wish people would vote for Conquest a lot more than they do now.

But the VIP is in a BATTLEMech. Is't that enough as an excuse to shoot more things?

I wouldn't mind it having a derpy build even if it can shoot, AC10s, LL and LRMs would be fine. And though it's stupid, it's still going to be a 13v12, so it's going to rile up others.

I hate the mode mainly due to the goddamn radar towers. If an engagement happens in certain places one team gets blanket ECM and perma unshootable UAV, and the other team cant do anything about it (because stopping to stand still on a cap point in full view of the enemy team = lol suicide.) You'd be right to claim that the only option at that point is a full on push or a mass retreat to a better spot.. but.. pugs. It ruins gameplay on certain maps for me quite often.

and no, its nothing to do with LRMs really. A major cause of instant death in this game is people poking while under a UAV.. and getting instagibed because several enemies lined up their shot in advance.
