Yeah, should not be very controversial but anyway.Posted Image
It looks pretty disgusting when you look at the specs, lots of hardpoints and given that Clans have lighter and more powerful weapons it's going to be utterly ridiculous.
There's even an ECM variant... Posted Image

Just great, boost that Clan advantage even more, it's not like it's good enough that the Clans have the best mechs in every class, let's see to it that they surely have the best in every weight group too. Posted Image

Most of it's hard points are fairly low, so I doubt it will be OP.

It's going to wipe the floor with the IS Marauder, though, as per IIC usual.

Maybe they are "balancing" against the Linebacker? Those sure disappeared quick.

if im not mistaken this is the first clan ecm-able assault mech. IS has at least AS7-DDC and the loyality stalker to fit that role. how is that ecm a problem?

also: unlike stalkers, most of its armaments are mounted lower, unlike AS7, its hitboxes do not allow as much spreading.

More weapons does not equal better.

Direwolves can pack maximum lasers and how often do you see a dire with any lasers. MAD-IIC will overheat with the best of them while MADs can keep on dishing it out at close range and with greater accuracy thanks to burn time and pin-point ACs.

All 3 of my MAD builds still do very strongly against NTG and KDK-3 meta. So unless MAD-IIC is next level creepage you will be just fine. Just play smarter and don't tank a 85 ton assault mech with a 75 ton heavy.

Ugh, quit whining.
The ECM variant will only have a few builds actually available to it. Finding equipment to fill that tonnage will be a chore.
Our Ballastics just got nerfed to ****.
The laser variants will be hot as all hell, because our weapons are much hotter.

It's side torsos are considerably easier to isolate compared to the inner sphere variants, meaning torso twisting the MAD-IIC will be really difficult. Since it's so wide from the top, it'll be quite the LRM catcher as well. The rear is also easily defined and has a bigger, wider profile than the front. Junk in the trunk, enough to sink both hands in. Backstabbers will have a field day circling these things.

Low hanging arms mean only a couple of it's variants can peek over hills, which expose your giant buttocks well before you can use those torso guns. Not to mention it doesn't seem like the Marauder has a lot of pitch potential.

Loads of firepower for sure, but without structure quirks and a bigger profile overall, it's going to be exactly what we expect from clan mechs. Fast, punches hard, crumbles when you focus it.

It's not going to be that overpowered, lol. Want to know a secret? Aim for the bubble cockpit. It's massive and if you don't pull a hat trick you'll duck their CT up. Really. Or, if you're so inclined, leg them. Lots of clan players will shave leg armor if it means squeezing in that one extra heat sink.

It's easier to list the times and people who don't shave leg armor, then the times and people that do.

QFT.

I make a point to remember the names of the few people whose legs I've sunk an alpha into and they didn't go cherry or just pop.

IRL, I don't care for dark meat.. but in MWO, legs are tasty AF.

Looking at the size it is just a stalker where the arms are lower and has a higher torso mount than a Misery.

The JJs make it neat, but that eats up weight for not a whole lot of gain on an assault.

Just like the Direwolf, you just need to not stare at it down long avenues of fire.

IIC
IIC
IIC

Gotta repeat things 3 times to get them right. The 2C is a Battmaster variant, possiy for other chassis as well.

The new Gauss range nerf is going to hit the D hard.

Unlike the KDK, the MAD IIC weapon points are fairly low.

As a MAD player, I can tell you, I thank PGI for the armor quirks because I get shot for frake, seeing as I need to really reveal myself to shoot stuff. Aka body is above hands (weapons).

The MAD IIC has not armor quirks. So... it is near going to be for sure that when they peek out, you will have no problem shooting their body and coring them if they stay too long outside.

Edit: It was pointed out that there are no quirks except a 15% missile Cooldown. So basically, you probably won't know the torso twist yaw, pitch, or speeds until it has been delivered.

Original post: I'd hold off on calling in yet because of one thing that should be a bit disturbing to people who purchased it. Traditionally, the countdown gives you the quirks on day 5, scale comparison on day 4, and faction patterns on day 3.

This time, scale comparison day 5, and faction patterns day 4. No quirks yet.

Now many of you will jump in saying that it probably doesn't have any quirks so it is not OP, or that they aren't bothering since the new skill tree is removing all quirks. But, more important information is also on the screen shots for the quirks. Namely torso twist yaw, pitch, and speeds. I'd wait to see those specs before calling it.

Or lets not forget that huge humped *** it has. The IIC is HUGE. It looks like a solid block from the front and has a huge side profile. Its not gonna hide any time soon from whatever hits its going to take. Even with a Side Torso destruction the additional heat is going to cripple it.

The quirks are in the patch notes:

/start quirk list

MAD-IIC-8 15% Missile cool down

/end quirk list

The IIC is an 85 ton Assault mech, so it should probably beat the IS version in a straight-up fight.

Good thing ducks are UP vs geese!!

But anyway, I'm sure it will be strong, the Warhawk will probably lose most it's relevance to the Marauder. As for the ECM variant eh.. it's gonna be a dual gauss sniper with a PPC or Dual Gauss and dual ER LL or something. A 2/2/2 hardpoint layout is pretty weak for an assault, I feel after the dust settles it won't hold up to the others as well

Confirmed. The marauder might be op as duck but it wont be coming with any quacks beyond a 15% missile cooldown for the MAD-IIC-8
