[Armored Yokai]

hey guys i was wondering if you would like to have a mp3 in a mech in which you upload music etc whatever.
(no not letting other people hear your music im talking about having a built in mp3 in your mech that music only you can hear because i dont want to exit out of the game and click play and go back in just for music to play )

Of course you need a good sound system on a mech, course the damn good speakers would be on the outside so your enemy could hear Highway To Hell as your beating them down.

The option would be nice, but not on a "Your own music or no music at all" basis.

this is THE most hilarious forum topic i have seen thus far. having itunes playing Frank Sinatra while you blasst the CRAPOLA out of some Daishi with a Fafnir or an Atlas? just AWESOME!!!!!

@Faceman Peck: its not realy an origional idea, if you ever read the old books there is a little merc company called Snord's Irregulars, and the leader Rhonda Snord was kicked out of the Clans due to a disagreement about "rock and roll." So she started a Merc Company, and rides round in a bright pink Highlander with speakers on the outside.

What's wrong with your own MP3 player? I don't think they plan on hosting terabytes of music files and losing a ton of bandwidth for people to backup their music collections.

There is another F2P MMO called All Points Bulletin that allows you to upload your own music into the game player so that you can select music at will from a UI element. Neatest part of that game unfortunately and I think the rest of the game is terrible.

So yeah it is possible, just depends on what the devs want to focus on and I think this would be neat for a future addition.

Back in the Old MPBT:Solaris and Kali TKZ days Clan Black Sheep repeatedly 'rolled' up, tunes cranking thru the external speakers. (This was before it was used as Psychological Warfare by the Marines in I believe it was San Salvador) The My Lil Pony Song would be Awesome to Crank out at Maximum, and you know how in some of the Missions you actually converse with your Opponent ('This Rorshack of Clan Jade Falcon.....') having just random Music Blaring Back as a response would R0x0R! But as far as having tunes in the game that I selected, Id rather just have my iPod Shuffle Line'd In like it is and all the chit chat n other BS from the game muted. I kinda hate Vox coms cause it interferes with my ELO and Heavy Metal Soundtrack Prefered Music to Shoot Feces By.

The only people I know who's preferred music player is iTunes are those that don't know any better.

Sure, the concept of making a 'MechWarrior named xxLeeeeeeeeeeeeeeroyJenkinSxx for the sole purpose of blaring Here I Go Again by Whitesnake while repeatedly solo-zerging the opposition makes me chuckle.

And the history of actually using loud music to demoralize enemies is valid, but would probably lead to an annoyingly high incidence of people thinking they were the first to think of blaring Flight of the Valkyries during a 'Mech charge.

But there's also the bandwidth that music transmission to other players would require. Bandwidth that's probably better off used for actual gameplay elements.

Plus there's the high likelyhood of griefing by forcing others to listen to such things as My Little Pony, Hamster Dance, Friday "by" Rebecca Black, That Trololololololololololololol song, or any number of other infinitely annoying offerings.
