Implying either of those builds ever worked outside of trolling one target before death

i have seen videos before nerfs, where players were able to fire 2-3 alphas before going down.
now you can't even alpha once, so you won't even get a kill.

also as topic states these are for fun and trolling only.

the reason you could get multiple alpha strikes on the Dire Star was a bug in the heat scale calculations for cERPPC.

as far as I am aware the Giga Drill would never survive firing an alpha strike.

if you are after an insane firepower Dire which will not instantly self destruct try something like this just do not alpha strike, stager the ERMLs over 3-2 fire groups, and fire the groups half a second apart to avoid heat scale, that should still have about the same burn time as Gigga Drill would, and comes with the advantage that you would probably be able to fire everything over about 2 seconds without overheating, although you can forget about firing a second time any time soon

I just run 6 U-AC/5s... Left mouse chains three, right mouse chains three, and the side button alphas.
Not really "Trolly," but it's fun to see heavies and mediums freak when I roll down on them. I've destroyed whole lances solo in it.

Moby **** Build:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...3f8e41670e140b7
Extra Ammo:
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...104479bea0de855

You can alpha then follow up with Dual UAC/10's plus SPLs'. Then fire UAC/20's or a SPL+SRM6 Combo.

140+(40+24)+(36+24)=264 Damage before heat max. 140 is instant alpha. The follow up 64 damage is 2.15 seconds later, then the last attack is at 1.65 seconds later or 3.8 seconds total. So, it's a fast dumping DPS build. Usually kills them or sends them packing with almost no armor left. Unless you miss of course. Always aim well. And bring a buddy or two if possible to finish them off. I don't alpha on this build though unless they are distracted and I know they will not move alot until all ammo hits them. which is the second reason to fight in groups. It much easier to concentrate a quick alpha on their CT if they are unloading their shots on someone else. Or even you if needed. If solo just fire guns one after the other and kill them unless/untill they are in a good situation to alpha. the alpha will spread easily if you don't fire it well.

It's my High alpha white whale if you get my drift.

Story: I had the kodiak set and spent forever trying to build High alpha semi sustainable builds. I couldn't get more than 120 conveniently. Then I bought the UV and make this whale of a mech. So I painted him white and called him Moby ****! So, it is the white whale of high alpha builds.

Why did the word **** a few edits back turn into the word {Richard Cameron} ?!

Take the -W, fit a Gauss, LPL, and 2 ER MLs in each arm, and 2 eR MLs in the CT. 98 Damage alpha, no ghost heat.

Ultra-Violent

Here is a close range 106 Alpha build with pinpoint damage and max armor that I have been messing around with. It runs a little hot (as one might expect), but has a good amount of ammo and allows for at least two or three alpha fires for 212/318 points of pinpoint damage at close range. You can drop a laser or two to improve heat management and add more ammo or just drop them all together and max out ammo for the other two weapons.

From the top of my head this:
uac20 + 2uac10 + 6ersl + 5spl + 2srm6

many types of weapons would make it tricky. i would group up ersls with uac20, uac10s and srm6s for one BIG button, and spls for another. third group would be just uacs or even uac10s.
you should doubletap one button and fire spls with other button after ~0.5 sec. depending on jams you'll do up to 164 dmg in cost of 67 heat within 1.25 sec of facetime. if you get this facetime with any mech within 200m, it will probably be dead.

If you are looking for midrange, this would be the way to go:
2gauss + 2lpl + 12ermed
one weapon group for hands, one for torso. 140 dmg within ~1.7 sec for 94 heat. you'll have to override.

If you want huge damage then equip a double uac 10s in the right torso, one uac 20 in the left torso and a bunch of lasers in the arms, ammo and sinks variable.

example would be:

1xUAC/20
2xUAC/10
6xER medium Laser

Try 8 PPCs. It's fun to say in the beginning, " I have 4 PPCs ....in each arm". Or same with ER-L, which I think is more practical as little more heat efficient plus more heatsinks.

Sometmes you will have people in heavies or assults trying to outsnipe you.

All the nice fun DW builds have a problem that they are too singular and you are too slow and weak alone to get into that position/situation where they work.

2x Gauss 2x ERLL 6s ERML, 94 damage alpha - DWF-PRIME

It won't shut down when you shoot so you can sustain with Gauss after the initial salvo. It can punch through any side torso in one go if they don't twist and follow up with Gauss and ERLL to blow it off.

I was using this no ghost heat alpha striker (energy only) :

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...cdaa0c2b6b787c5

It works right well, of course it's very hot but you can play with it and not die after one alpha like the gigadrill.

Now i use this build from metamech, it works very well too !

After thinking about this a little more i came up with this ludicrous design:

Big damage

Unfortunatley its an ultraviolet since the S couldnt artemis the CT SRM.

Anyway... when double tapping the autocannons you will be capable of doing 158 damage in less than one second without actually sacrificing on armour. The drawback is that each weapon system only has 2 tons of ammo to spend (saving weight in favor of weapons) and it has little in the way of heat sinks.
