here is a question
in 4 v 4 if your on defense (tasked with stopping the other team) and you get 11 beacons and the other side gets one
but you all
what happens?

An ******* was deliberately pushing into my back all the way from spawn to the point of enemy engagement. (Literally a minute of following every step I took, even when I moved sideways or circled to try to get him to pass me).
Then when I turned around he TKed me.
As I respawned, I noted that the enemy team was the same set of groups I've been running into for several consecutive days, many of them well-known players in meta Mechs. Many of their names are at the top of the FP leaderboard.
I reluctantly concluded that spending another 20 minutes of my life playing that match, potentially being TKed and trolled again, would be less aggravating than the shame of living with my first ever deliberate disconnect in four years of playing.
Apologies to the other 10 players on that team. Some of you perhaps were - like me prior to this point - always doing your best to win, despite zero effort from the developer to drop you into an even mildly balanced match with similarly skilled players similarly trying to win. Instead of mixing you with TKers and potatoes, and feeding you to groups of the best players.
However, getting TKed before I'd barely even engaged in the fight pushed me over that edge.

Yes, please! Because if there's one thing I enjoy more than trying to win a match after being dropped with TKers and potatoes, it's tying to level new Mechs while failing to carry TKers and potatoes.

What's next, Johnny? Are you going to show us your fedora collection?
Rudeness aside, yes, giving up before the match even starts is rather dumb. People are people and people make mistakes-- I've seen EMP players cross into the open and get focus fired. It happens. No one is ever going to be 100% perfect at the game
You can give up when your entire team is wiped 0-12 in the first wave of FW without even getting an enemy mech crit and when 5 people die within the first 2 minutes of a QP match, though. That's totally fair.

Once, I would have vehemently argued with that. Tonight, my opinion isn't quite as strong

yes it is bad to throw a match (which is exactly the same as letting the other team win, so I am not sure why the or was in there) and the 1 game in 100 (at most, probably several times less often than that) I see it happen I report the player responsible.
this is simple and easy to do, and perhaps more importantly has absolutely nothing to do with a facinating documentry on making a Katana (I have seen that one on TV and it is rather interesting)
