I can dodge them personally most of the time but apparently a lot of people can't.

I will now always have at least 1 AMS in quick play. You're welcome. One heat sink lost so you will cry a little less is worth it. Posted Image

EDIT: With the heat sink buff it isn't even a difference to lose that heatsink anyway! LOL

That's not enough! I demand all teammates take at least twin AMS and form a wall of armour around me so I can eat custard creams in peace. Also everyone must have arm mounted weapons to take out those pesky UAVs, I don't want those dirty clanners finding out where I keep my biscuit stash on Crimson.

I was getting sick of my less adaptive team mates dropping like flies to Lurm spam so I changed my mechs to adapt to the needs of other players who won't adapt themselves.

Triple AMS/ECM Kitfox built on a Purifier with a battery of ER-Medium lasers. I just run up next to the poor slob who won't stop standing in the rain and calmly suggest better places to stand for them...

KTO-GB 5 x LRM5 TAG/BAP 2 medium pulse lasers. Aggressivley apply counter battery fire on enemy Lurmers with a steady stream of chain fired LRM5s.

Locust -PB and play hitman seeking out the enemy lurmers.

MADIIc pretty much any variant and play super aggressively with priority on closing on LRM boats. It's a blast to be the suprise 85 tonner that just rounded a corner on a Lurmer that is now wondering how an assault mech managed to cross the whole map unnoticed...on polar highlands.


What it comes down to is this.

There are very few good players who use LRM based builds with regularity. The majority of lurm spam is coming from some pilot in a mech that is way to big for the role packing way to much ammo and parked way to far from friends to be saved in time.

If these guys are killing you it's entirely because someone is letting them do it.

I demand you support my quest for a 4 AMS King Crab Hero.... and while we are at it, there's still time.... I want the Assassin Hero, DarkDeath, with it's EdgeLord name, swapped for a special 6x AMS + ECM version called the "Defender". With it's speed and glut of AMS, it should be able to protect almost the whole team bu itself!

If any mech is getting a ridiculous amount of AMS, the Clans need one as well. I recommend the Bane as the prime Clan mech for ****tons of AMS, since its entire motto is "If something is good, stick at least 8 of them on".

Pro tip:
Never aim at the mech with AMS.

Actually, I prefer to aim at the mech with AMS. He's going to be a pain in my rear during the match anyways, might as well make what damage is going through hit him so eventually I don't have to deal with that same AMS shooting down my missiles heading for his friends.

Why am I the only idiot that shoots down the UAVs?

I swear I could 100 more damage each match if others would just do their share of the UAV killing.

(Hmmmm. Maybe I just answered my own question.)

It is a difference because anyone else still has the HS buff, while you invested yours in something else.

I always shoot down enemy UAVs as soon as I see them.
I like to think that is one of the reasons why I (purely PUG) have a positive w/l rate with my random teams.

Snazz, I am reeeeaaaalllyyyyy sorry I Lurmed the snot out of you... I am not sure if you tracked them back to me, sweet Kerensky knows I had so many in the air at one point you could play connect the dots back to my launcher tubes.

Yes, I focused my fire on you in my role as a support mech, I also called my lance and teammates to focus their fire on you at the same time (please don't get mad at me for using teamwork as well)...

"BUT WHY POOR DEFENSELESS ME!!! YOUR LURMS HURT MY EPIC PAINT JOB" you cry....

Well, because you are a decent shot, take my rain of pain as a compliment (did you like it how I maintained LOS within 500m to minimize spread and flight time? Did you know I was there?). I know if there is a "good gun" or a mech in a place that may lead to a tactical advantage that they become a priority target, but if they hang their rear armor out for target practice, I will take that too.

I also run a KFX-C with overload and range on 3xAMS for when I want to help my team not worry about Lurms, but pay for it with reduced damage output and c-bill payout... but really, why?
Lurms are the weapon system in the game with the most counters built in and available to be added (modules, run to ecm, LoS) to the point that Lurms are really only a threat to rookies and people who have made a poor tactical decision about positioning or spotting, at which point you deserve my 50 to 80 tubes of Lurm based luvin.

Poor Bishop you entirely misunderstand.
Not surprising though.
The whole strategy was to pick them apart by pining them on that ridge line.
Then to top it off not a single mech bothered to come down to challenge me on the low road.
Behind Candy Mountain.
Not one.
In all honesty the last two were laser kills when a Raven and a Centi came for me.
It was a "Team" effort all in all.
When it works it just works.
But..............

I had a 3x AMS + ECM + PPC + 2x SRM4 Kitfox, works well. It can snipe, and splatter short range.

This guy gets it! AMS is for your teammates' protection just as much as for your own. Equip an AMS, save a pug!

AMS should be allowed in ballistic hardpoints. Problem solved.
