Even without its advanced stealth capabilities, the Spector that Norse-Storm BattleMechs reintroduced in 3053 is an impressive light 'Mech. The Spector has a weight saving Magna 245 XL engine that gives it a top speed of 118.8 km/h. The Spector is also built on a Norse XT-Light Type AE Endo Steel chassis and carries seven and a half tons of Starshield Light armor. Seven HildCo Model 11c jump jets provide a jumping capability of up to two hundred and ten meters, giving it a great deal of mobility. The Spector carries a Norse Guardian ECM Suite that allows it to defend itself against advanced enemy targeting and range finding equipment.
The Spector carries a Nightwind Large Laser as its primary weapon. This is backed up by a pair of Defiance B3M Medium Lasers and a single Defiance B4S Small Laser for close combat. While most consider this a light weapons payload for a 35 ton 'Mech, the Spector's superior mobility and mission profile do not require a very heavy weapons payload.

This would be a Light that I could love. It will be interesting to see what we get. I personally hoping for a new Clan and IS chassis.

But also, it's a 35 ton humanoid light mech that looks like this.

The current scaling system would eat the poor thing alive.

I do really well with the PHX and that thing is huge. As far as looks...I have all the books and as things go this is a good looking unit. Alex also does some pretty good work.

I'm just saying, it would lose the hitbox lottery right off the bat due to how scaling works right now, and that's a big downside.

I appreciate your point. It would be like most IS mechs and need a similar quirk pass as the PHX.

So you just want an energy focussed IS 35-tonner with ECM. Ok, I'm ok with that. Posted Image

Raven would likely be better than this in every way. Very very similar role to the ASN as well, which is set to release.

As far as lights go, IS needs a missile based light alternative to the Oxide.

The Mech is nowhere near the geometry of those due to its massive, bulbous torso shape eating up a good deal of the tonnage.

Yawn. The last six IS Mechs were 3025 and we are getting another (useless) one really soon.
Give TRO:3025 a break.

Why not the Chameleon OP?
It's 50 tons, cheap at 4.6M C-Bills, top speed of 97.2km/h, and has reasonably good arms and armament. Not to mention it has Jump Jets as well. As for weapons, well. One Large Laser, Two Medium Lasers, and three Small lasers with Machine Guns in two. I think it'd be a nice 'Mech to teach players how to manage their heat.

I could see an upgraded version with FF and ES to give it more Jump Jets, an ERPPC and an AC/2.

Specter would do well, actually - it is a lot more dense in the torso than the existing 35 tonners, which might make it a bit smaller, plus ECM is really important to lights, imo (its a lot easier to not die when you dont display a targeting icon to attract people)

Take a better look at your picture there, that torso goes back a far bit, its not thin like a Firestarter at all. It'll probably have scale similar to an Urbanmech rather than a Firestarter.

Only real issue with it is the technology it uses. One variant gets ER lasers and MASC, another has stealth armor, and the original could pretty much turn invisible. An invisible 35 tonner would be pretty nifty.

I don't see an issue with adding tech into the game and breathing life into variety. We already have an unbalanced mess tbh so it's not like letting IS get some new toys would hurt the game too much, in my opinion.

Main thing I was pointing out as being massive is the thunder thighs and the arms. Both of them would get ripped off really easily.

Javelin. Perhaps the only mech pack I'd be willing to make sacrifices to free the cash for purchasing at this point.

Not anything against it other than its not a light. As someone that plays lights I would like to know that that class isnt dead.

Same fix as applied to the PHX. That has worked out well.
