The Dire Wolf doesn't have a huge neck that would get you shot when you're trying to hide behind cover.

If PGI makes the Anni's neck long and slim, we can get a periscope mech for advanced form of scouting, aided by BAP and Command Console!

But yeah, Anni is meh. Gimme Devastator, or even Thunder Hawk instead.

I am sure it's coming but because it's so slow it might take another year to show up.

Also I certainly wouldnt buy it. Slower than a direwolf and the mount points are all low.

Asides tanking is there anything good this mech can bring to the game?

No takers for the stone rhino?

I'd say it would be useless but it looks damn cool (it looks like the K-Crab's nemesis).

Oh lord. I can see why people would want the mech but it'd be worse than our highlanders we have currently

Do you really want that from a gameplay standpoint??

I can see it now

Why not? Well if you took away nostalgia this mech would be shunned by almost everyone for being a contender for worst mech ever.

I think it's likely it'd get a 300 engine cap but it's fans demand it keep it's giraffe neck which by itself makes the mech DOA. It'd be so crappy in game ppl would stop using it after a month or two. Especially since it'd compete with Kodiak s and Mad IIC, etc, whether you like it or not. I don't mean to be harsh but thats the reality.

Cerberus, Nightstar, Devastator, Thunderhawk, these are mechs that would be strong in game and be able to compete with the competition. Personally I vote Nightstar because it's the sexiest and it'd rock the hardest.

I tend not to worry about viability. We have enough Meta Gunbags that really it's redundant. I'd rather see interesting and fluff stuff in game, now.

Come on now Bishop... where is the Meta IS 100t?

Oh right... because it doesn't exist.

And concerning interesting and fluff, Marauder II over the Annihilator any day of the week.

(and I say that with lots of nostalgia for the Anni from MW2 multiplayer times, I mean it is where my nickname stems from)

I would include the NSR but it's *only* 95 tons

I don't get why people melt their brains with Pop and Hip Hop Music, or consider crap like the Walking Dead or Game of Thrones "groundbreaking" TV..... but people do. People want, what they want, for a number of reasons. And last I checked, weren't required to get approval from you, me or the Dartboard of Destiny to do so.

I liked your take on the Annihilator but I can't find the image.

which one, I posted two over the last 4.5 years...

my original

and then the update a couple years back

both would have pretty horrible hit boxes, tbh.

personally I really like how Czechu_NS captured the feel of the head, in his neckless version.....

I'd make the ct a little less pointy, and modify the lower arms, but overall I like his take a lot.

because we need a meta mech at every single weight increment? Nope. Moving on.

I'd like to see it in this game because then it'd have a chance to show up in HBS Battletech where it would actually be a terror. And I might actually pick it up if it were released here because I'm a bit of a masochist. But I'd be a masochist with big guns so there's that.

No reason why they can't allow it to take a 300, one of the clan variants does come with a 300 so there's that.

That will be the hero. ;P

honestly...all those are pretty boring, IMO, too. 100 tons just limits your drop deck options anyhow.

If one wants to meta, I'd much rather see a Gunslinger, Emperor, Nightstar or Cerberus than any of the remaining, highly overrated IS 100 tonners.

at this point in mech redundancy the same can be largely said at any weight. So it's about wants, not needs.

Annihilator in combat

best conquest mech ever.

Tbh, if we're raiding Wolf's Dragoons arsenal I'd rather see the Marauder II. But there's a lot of common I.S. designs that still haven't seen the light of day (Crusader, Wasp/Stinger, Hermes II, Whitworth, etc.)

yeah, I'd take pretty much ANY of those (you forgot the Vulcan and Dervish!) over the Anni...or any of these 100 ton Gauss Vomit terrors that... are just so damn vanilla.

On a serious note, I'm kind of surprised there's no Annihilator too. Old Mechwarrior game nostalgia would probably let it carry it's own financial weight.

Would be a crap mech, though.

Nightstar (sexy), Gunslinger (85 ton IS Night Gyr with ECM), and Cerberus (quad AC10!) would be great to have. But I have to stop and defend the Thunder Hawk (yes the Devastator would be a bit boring IMO). It comes with 3 gauss rifles, which means we could reasonably expect 5-6 ballistic hardpoints spread between 3 different components. This provides some previously unavailable configurations that would help stand up to the other top tier assaults by providing a different role, and is able to bring an XL engine unlike the Mauler. The Cerberus has ballistic hardpoints spread to 4 components, so 4 AC10s is possible, and thats great too, but I dont think the Thunder Hawk would be boring.

It might trigger some boring-ness with fighting Gauss walls from back in the day though.
