I loved the Campaigns i played in MW4:Vengeance and Mercs and i've played them a billion times. I'm still sifting through all the info on this site and the forums to answer this question but i'll post it here while i'm still searching: Will there be a Campaign to play similar to Vengeance or Mercs?

The closest to an answer i've found so far on this website is this:

-I've learned about the place in the BT timeline when the game will start and that every ingame day will be just as long as a RL day

-I've learned that there's gonna be an MMO 'element' to this game, even though it's a sim like the other MW games

I guess another way to word my question is this: Is this game going to be like the MWLL mod where you just basically login, pick your Mech config and kill your friends? Or will there be actual BT story telling involved(will there be a campaign mode on the side)?

I'll be just as happy if it's just "login and kill your friends". If i really want to enjoy a BT story i'll just curl up with a good BT book in my personal collection on the couch for a few hours.

The short answer is no.

The long answer is eventually, maybe. The devs intend to put in a more strategic mode to gameplay; if that's the sort of campaign you want, then I believe you, and I, and everyone else who wants a more complex planetary assault will, eventually, get one. However, if you're talking a campaign as in the previous MW games, I don't believe we'll see that, at least not unless/until the devs put in PvE elements. Even then, (shrug)

Depends on your definition of campaign mode.

Will there be a single player story? The answer is no not on release and is 50/50 at best further down the line.

Multiplayer pvp, on the scale where by the game is run like a campaign straight from Battletech Universe Story, 1 day in real life is 1 day in the game universe, the events that unfolded in BTU will unfold in the game, so in a way its like a giant campign story mode but is played out multiplayer.

Basically the entire game is a campaign on a very large scale.
