Pgi Can I Have My Choice Back?

When they hold events like the recent Stocking Stuffer, and what will likely be their annual Lucky Charms event in March they essentially hamstring the players choice with their current system. I don't get a lot of time to play and complete these events. It makes it worse when I only have two choices of game modes to choose from per match. Yes I remember waiting in queue for 5 minutes or more before getting a match sometimes. But that was my choice. I understand they want people to utilize their game modes but I and obviously a lot of other players don't like certain game modes. So let us have our choice back.

The issue would be to many modes splitting up an already small player base. Wait times would go back up again and some modes would never even find a match. I can't think of any reason I would ever drop for Dom unless an event was giving me something free. And I'm sure lots of people feel the same way.

But I also miss the random map selections after playing the same 3maps over and over again 90% of the time I need a break PGI needs to get rid of the MAP MINI GAME as well and go back to random map choices along with renaming and putting back into play the older maps some were very fun compared to the new altered maps.
P.S Or just allow the check boxes fr game modes to being used during events works for me.

I agree with you on the maps. I take more breaks away from the game now just because the same maps over and over get so boring.

I would actually get rid of map selection. All it does is to allow people to reinforce their "one trick pony" approach. If we go to polar, there is always tons of snipers and lurmers around, on small maps there is tons of brawlers etc. Booooriiiinnnggg

No more choosing anything.
Players who build with a mind towards broad performance envelopes will do well in any given circumstance.
On the other hand, some players will discover just how not-optimized their "optimized" builds are when they can't just vote-away Terra Therma or Conquest.

Play the modes you like, this will also IMPROVE the gameplay in those modes as the players involved will be more interested in playing the game mode.
Currently we have ONE game mode called SKIRMISH with "lame objectives" forced upon those who have no interest.
I've seen a drop in gameplay quality since the choice of gamemode was taken away.
It's pretty much Heavy Warrior Online Deathball mode only.

Hot maps rarely come up. Cold maps are dominating the selections.

Unfortunately, they can't give the players back choice without breaking the game and queue times.
Period.
The longer answer is that MANY players prefer one or two modes and those are the only ones they select.
The recent stocking stuffer was a good example. I had 13 skirmish, 13 assault, 8 domination, 8 escort and 5 conquest matches. See a pattern? Even with the choice of only 2 game modes ... certain modes are selected far less often. However, if you translated this into hard choices rather than votes you would probably very rarely get an escort, domination or conquest match.
Even when we had game mode selection, I initially played only skirmish. I later switched to any of the three ... however, most of my matches were still skirmish.
The bottom line is that game mode choice does not work with the number of available game modes, game population and reasonable queue times. In fact, I suspect that their current matchmaker would not work at all with hard game mode selection and would need to be significantly upgraded to deal with it. As a result, for all these reasons, I don't ever expect to see hard game or map mode selection available.

The current system works for me, especially if you consider that fact that solders normally don't get to choose where they are deployed. We are already spoiled.
I am also very disappointed by those who refuse to play the game unless they get the specific map they want, or just the mode they want. Talk about priss.

Boo-hoo. I can't generate any sympathy for people that won't face the challenge of certain maps and game modes.
It's Lame. We all have our favorites and our most hated maps and modes. But in all of them, you get to enjoy combat.
If people were given the choice to avoid the maps/modes they don't love with all of their special little hearts, they would quickly get bored of having their own way all the time.
Maybe PGI can split the playerbase into two streams: mature and immature. Then all the special snowflake pony warriors can have their way and PGI can introduce a new map called "Safe Space" where ponies can go and have a little corner to play in where they're not "forced" to play maps and modes that hurt their special little feelings.
I'm kind of just kidding around. I know sometimes it's frustrating. But that's life.

It's not going to matter when you don't have a population to fill in the "QP buckets" for a specific mode AND group/solo.
I like choice, but having so many modes won't allow "choice" to be an option.
It's really the same issue for asking for a MM in FP.

I love how some people think that Conquest is really that different from any other game mode, at least different enough that somehow the builds that work in the other game modes for whatever reason don't work in conquest.
