And I think 2 teams should spawn on the same "side" of the zone e instead of on 2 opposite sides. They can have a parallel running fight to the Dom zone that way.
I mean the Dom zone e should be at one of the complexes at the age of the map, and two teams that were dropped 90° off from eachother have to close in on it, instead of 2 teams dropped 180° apart.

Finally reason to really travel to different parts of a map, not just always run to the same spot and ignore everything else.

I have a different perspective... I think the domination zone should be located at the most important military/industrial location possible for each map.
In Alpine and Polar, it should be at a developed site with buildings, since nobody cares about some random patch of snow. In Canyon Network it should be at the highway bridge, which is important transportation infrastructure. In forest colony it should be a mining site or something. In River city I think it should be the airfield.
Some maps are just undeveloped, though...

The maps are so stale at this point.
Enemy spotted H8 @ this map. F7 on this one.
Spawn and cap points are too predictable. Makes the maps far smaller then they should be.

I'm sure they're aware. The question is "Do they care?"
I thought people were exaggerating how bad Alpine Domination was, though, until I had the misfortune to drop onto it a few days ago. My team: on the wrong side of the map with no light mechs at all. By the time the fastest mech on our side made it to the circle, the other team had only 12 seconds left on the timer, and all 12 enemy mechs focus fired him into oblivion.
We lost, but at least it was over really quickly.
Yes, folks, it really is that bad.

Balancing in terms of "Find two spots that have equal distance to the dish for every potential dish location."
That should be roughly one man-day work to cover 10 spots each for ALL maps in existence.
The sad thing is: You might still be right, though. :-/.
PS:
Or maybe even improve the game mode so that getting to the point faster with a lousy light Mech doesn't decide half the match. Something like multiple mechs having to be present for several minutes to transfer the data. But that would be technically logical AND tactically more interesting. Of course they can't do that ^^.

When you play light mechs, it's always fun when your team yells at you for not running at the Domination objective and trying to hold it for 30 seconds until the cavalry arrives, while you're dodging gauss and PPC projectiles.

"Lights! Why aren't you doing everything the assaults tell you to!!! You won't
Honestly, coupled with all the light nerfs, is it any wonder why so few people play the weight class?

Nevermind that most fattie pilots and pubbies have no idea how lights should actually be played.
