Why headshot it when you can XL check it ayyy

They'll probably give it post rescale catapult head syndrome where it's easy to find where to aim but the hitbox itself is pretty tiny.

I'm of the idea that "not everything has to be balanced".
I'm more than fine with using an inferior option (wouldn't be playing IS-only otherwise)

Then why do you want to balance STD Structure and Armor? And how about Clan gundams?

Doesn't sound that bad. 105kph 55 tonner with 2xPPCs and enough DHS to run them cool enough.
Definitely seems an improvement over my 2xPPC Vindicator 1R (with which i have gotten over 1k damage on more than one occasion, i might add)
Can't actually prove the 1k damage in the vindicator part, right now, because the screencaps are in my other PC.

The Vindicator is a pretty low baseline of comparison...

Even then, the Vindi 1AA can go a bit faster than that and gets JJs.

I have very selective reasoning. That's why. Posted Image

Alright, alright, back to talking about the Bushwacker. I don't want to completely derail the topic.

The Bushwacker looks good. Good enough to pick up for C-bills, at least.

If your mech has hard points higher than it's cockpit, and your looking down on it, then I'd say yes it will have relatively big issues, you still have to aim right of course.

hard points that are lower than it's nose i'd say are not going to get close

2.5 years in and still worrying about headshots? Head hitbox have long been a tiny default spot in the head. A couple have unfortunately located spots, like the CPLT, where center mass might well hit the head. but the design of the cockpit has almsot no impact on the actual hitboxes.

Disagree-- the middle window pane on highlanders (both inner sphere and clan) is extremely easy to aim for visually and track, and it's a nice "shoot me!" box.
They're among the easiest to headshot with practice.

The way it's modeled makes it easy to find from multiple forward angles.

I think I commented on that for instance with my Catapult Comment?

Though amazingly, in over 20k matches, I can count the number of times (post Closed Beta) that I have been headshot on my hands (OK... because memory ain't perfect, I might need to use my feet too).

And that's with driving a lot of Catapults, Battlemasters, Cataphracts and yes, Highlanders. And Headshots are about as overstated a phenomenon as Ammo Explosions. To the point that so many people strip some degree of armor OFF their cockpits, including Meta builds. (though that QQ a year or so ago by the people running naked heads and dying from arty strikes was HILARIOUS!)

I run into McGral18 from time to time, so yeah, I'm still worrying about headshots.

But those arms are gonna pop off the second someone looks at them intently.

Honestly would rather lose the arms first than the side torsos.

I think I have discovered I have a love for mechs that have helicopter-esque torsos.

Meh, it is moment like this that make me really hate the Early Adopter model for their mech packs.

As in now that I have a better idea of how it will look and all that I may actually be interested in buying it, but all the bonuses are long gone cause I wanted to make an informed purchase rather than an impulse purchase, ya know? (and as many know concept art have not always been an accurate representation of the finished product.)

Just buy the early adopter pack and if you dislike how it looks after more detail is released on it refund it before you get it. You'd just have to have the money set aside for awhile though, but 20 dollars really isn't all that much in the first place to stake down for the standard pack, upgrade if you like it once details come out, get refund if you don't.

There is a phrase I am looking for here...power advancement? No that's not it, power crawling? Hmm... Something to do with obsoleting my Shadow Hawks...bah. It'll come to me I am sure.

You guys are funny. If it is not the new best Mech of its weight class it is DOA RIP. If it is better then it is Power Creep. Even if it turns out to be the best IS Medium it will not be power creep because the HBK II-c will still be better.

No, you didn't, the HBK-IIC is still better than the Huntsman outside of brawling (and the specific build that matters is paywalled).

Don't get me wrong, the Huntsman is a solid Clan medium, but it isn't as great as the HBK-IIC.
