As you've likely seen by now the new roadmap announced new weapons and other equipment from the 3060s.

The question I'm having is, what about some of the older stuff like binary lasers, etc? Are they getting added as well or will they be forgotten?

I have a feeling that stuff like Rifles will get ignored, but hopefully the IS will get its full LBX and UAC line as part of the "new tech".

We'll probably just get the rest of UACs, LBXs and Streaks, and that will be it.

I would love to get myself a RAC, though (just the IS though, Clanners can go without it Posted Image)

If the IS doesn't get MRMs and Heavy Gauss, I'm going to be really sad.

And yeah, you can have the RAC's. I know CDS made the Clan equivalent, but the IS deserves some access to them.

Yeah, CDS made a Clan RAC, but only in ~3070 Posted Image

MRMs would be sweet AF, but i don't see them happening. Why, you ask? Because that'd require creating new models to incorporate up to 40 missile tubes.

It'd be epic to look at on mechs with 4+ missile mounts... Soooo many missiles...

What about thunder lrms?

Not to mention the time and headache involved to make them not suck.

I imagine they'll make it in but this thread is about older stuff like binary lasers, arrow missiles and so on.

Well Blazers are considered experimental level kit, and thus not tournament legal so they just might side step them all together... Arrow IV exist in a quasi-legal zone called "advanced rules", how ever they require Crit splitting so don't count on it...

I doubt that's everything we're getting, the roadmap states that 2 of the four mechs introduced in summer will be 3060+ mechs that make use of the new weapons and equipment, I highly doubt that the equipment they'll have is what the Clans have always had.

Technically Arrow IV doesn't require crit splitting, since it uses 12 slots. Clan Battlemech with Std engine can mount it. I would by the Scorch if ARROW IV is actually implemented for Clans.

Then you're horrible overestimating PGI...

not if they stream fire. if it cant fire all of them it can just rotate the existing tubes again. also what they did with the catapult shows the way. its a workable problem.

i suppose they could be used in limited fashion with existing mechs. you could release a cat-c3 without shoulders or upper arm actuators that can accommodate them, and an xl engine too boot. or you can run an std 175, 3 single heat sinks, no armor and run 3 or 4 of them, if that would fit in the tonnage allotment.

Yup, now that LB-X, Ultras, and SSRMs are likely coming, I suppose I'll need something else to rage about.

You know what this game really needs from the old tech? Mech Mortars.
