There's I reason I almost never pilot my Warhawk any more. Bloody invisible hilltops on Polar Highlands...

Some rounds I'm exceeding good at finding/hitting invisible walls... if only there was an achievement for hitting ghost terrain...

This is a different issue. Terrain features/objects disappearing at certain ranges and hitboxes that simply don't match up with the objects they wrap are both terrible and need to be fixed though.

Doesn't the range indicator provide a clue on whether or not your are pointing at invisible terrain?

No, because there are terrain pop in bugs as well-- my favorite are the ridges in tourmaline

range indicator will dynamically change as they pop in and out. it's ridiculous

It does, but if you are making snapshots you don't really have the reaction time to figure that out.

It only pops in and out for invisible hitboxes, not glitchy pieces of terrain.

I notice it mostly when I'm hover tarting... where I already have plenty of room for improvement without magical ghost shields blocking my shots.

Hated it so much when I was leveling my 4 erppc MADIIC, made my experience a living hell.

But yeah that need to be addressed sooner or later, just annoying to see my well time ppc shots be blocked by spooky walls.

increasing settings makes it less of a problem, get a lot of it at low and medium, it's not a problem at high and very high, unless the map builder has just been lazy, and not left a gap between two posts, just drawn them, or places like crystal ends in tourmaline

Okay - will try. Any settings in particular?

I run everything on highest settings. It is less of a problem then on my laptop where things are more med/high. HPG walls are still a joke even at high settings though.

Same here... I wish I would record more as many times when I just walk in straight line I can see right ahead then suddenly a part of terrain shows up and I don't see anymore.

I have everything in settings maxed out and I cleaed the cache so there must be some settings hardcoded in the game or something wrong somwhere.

Ok spent 10 minutes to record some bits on training grounds...

Can we avoid those change in textures?

I got hung up on Forest Colony an hour ago or more maybe....funny thing is I actually thing you delivered the killing blow Snazzy!!!

One of the things that really, really bugs me is the cannon in FW. Hellbore and Boreal are particularly bad as you can see the enemy clearly by what is cabling/conduit but you need to shoot a foot or more past it to avoid the invisable wall.

That's what your mechpack money is going to... more mechs and not maps (new ones or fixes).

Yes yes yes yes yes. This really really really bugs the crap out of me. My 1080's arrived today, I am going max out the settings and try and bump the view distance up in the cfg if possible but this sudden arrival of terrain appearing means in Polar, I have no f*****g clue if I am hitting anything that I am shooting. All I can assume is enemys hearing a crazy muppet blasting the crap out of terrain next to them that should be keeping them stealth. It almost feels like a hack but it's not.

But back to the OP, too damn right, all bridges are a writeoff. On Crimson it's a nightmare. At one certain point you can still hit something invisible near the cranes while seeing your opponent very clearly.

Sounds like either PGI need to acknowledge this and take ownership or as we a community try and log all the dodgy points (co-ordinates) in a bug thread.
