Yeah I'll try CSPL's and see how it goes, would be nice to have the extra armor back I had to make room for with the mediums.

As your situational awareness improves you will get better to avoid having your back towards the / an enemy and thus allows you to front load the unneeded armor to where its really needed. I run anywhere from 0-10 back armor on all my mechs, the faster or more ranged the build becomes the less armor it needs in the back. In general i think most of my medium/heavy brawlers are around the 6-10 range, my locust 1e spl brawler has 2-3 and my oxide has 3-4 in the back.

Does the armor per type actually make a difference? like does a "Heavy"'s armor count as more armor/armor than a light/medium? I find myself still getting blasted in the back when trying to weave in and out of buildings for cover to the point I have to stop exposing it and face tank things. I could see running less on a light or medium, seeing as they are basically 2-3x as mobile and can get in and out without taking very many hits.

1 Armor is 1 Armor, regardless of type. It blocks exactly 1 damage worth.

So then wouldn't you want enough to take 1 shot in the back? without being cored? ERLL does like 12 dmg roughly?. If you get run up on by a light that I figure that would be extremely problematic as well, 4 SL's hitting you while he's running laps once he notices you have no armor in the back they would try to stay behind you. At least that's how I would play it, but idk I guess I'm a scrub lol. I'll try that out a few times though, I could see it working really well in FW seeing as you know where everyone is at all times but quick play is madness people trying random stuff all the time. Since I've started playing TBR I've noticed everyone hates TBR and trys to take them out quick. Light runs up, jet packs the hill and lands behind like 3 mechs, one of them being a TBR it's getting focused with a few shots before the light runs off into the darkness again so to speak. Hits you with like 2 alpha's from behind you're basically getting cored. Doesn't happen much in FW I could see, but stuff like that happens all the time in QP. I'll try it out though, figured more armor was better guess I'm just bad lol

Chainfiring SRMs is a bad idea, since the whole point of bringing SRMs is that it deals all the damage in a single big punch. Fire all four, then torso twist to spread damage while it cools down.

NEVER stare at an enemy. If I ever see a TBR chainfiring missiles at my Kit Fox, I will just facepunch it with my SPLs since I know I can out-trade his DPS while being able to target specifically his CT.

If you're going to do a brawl build of a TBR, you should bring SPL instead of ERML. CERMLs are not particularly good for your heat efficiency as they generate significant heat for relatively little damage.

TBR-D

78 damage alphas. Alpha 3 times before overheat; 4 if you use a Coolshot 9x9 + Cool Boost.

6x SPL + 4 SRM6A (600) + 4x DHS

Is so far the best i could put it. You need that 1E CT if you would ever want to maximize SPL.

I do something similar: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...181e7376174171d

To the OP: I'm sure you've noticed the pattern by now, that Clan brawling is all about them SRMs + the small lasers (er or pulse). Keep that in mind when building any Clan brawler builds.

Sidenote: while Clan LBX autocannons are technically short-range shotguns, they are kind of inferior to Clan UACs. Most of the time, if you have the space and/or tonnage to carry a LBX, you are better off carrying an UAC of the identical size.

Noticing that now for sure, just the armor that's got me bugging out now. Guess I'll take the advice of the T1's they are clearly more versed than myself and see how it goes lol.

You shouldn't face tank an enemy, once you fired off your shot you should be twisting away even if the enemy is not firing because he will most likely fire and by immediately twisting the damage instead of focusing on a single component of your mech, he will be spreading to 3 or more if you're lucky.

And you should front load your front armour as much as you dare, I leave only 4 points of armour on my rear. Better players like Proton and Colonel O'Neill have only 1 or 2 in the rear.
Only having those small armour in the rear, you are most likely not going to get killed in a single shot. Because they have to go through your internal structure as well.
I believe the hp of your internal structure is half of your total armour, say if you have total armour of 64 that means your internal structure is 32. You can check in smurfy, it have a more accurate hit points of each mech components.
Unless if you get very unlucky and they strike a critical hit on you, even then you'll still probably survive from that single shot.
Unless if it is a PPFLD shot, then maybe better luck next time :P
You should invest on seismic sensor as well if you want to avoid having lights sneaking up on you from the rear.
