Well, obviously the idea behind the Watchdog CEWS would be that it would be designed to break the rule of "ECM or AP, not both".

Then it would have to provide limited effects of both.

Angel is Sphere-ish to my understanding

Angel was originally developed by the IS first so I guess it is Sphere-ish. Bloodhound AP, the active probe equivalent to Angel however never gets adapted by the Clans. The Angel ECM makes more sense given the time period (since they had given into using artillery by this point) as it was apt at combating C3 systems.

I'm surprised so few people (Just me) are down for Inner Sphere XXL engines. If you're going to blow up to a torso loss no matter what, you may as well save 75% of your engine weight instead of 50%!

Did you copy my post about defensive tech or was that just a coincidence? (I posted at 1:07pm and you at 1:19pm)

I'm flattered that you think I can type all of that, and pull all the relavent sarna data, in 12 minutes... but no. I've done two of these polls already this week (IS Omnimechs and Non-Experimental Weapons), and I already have half of the Experimental Weapons poll done (Trying to space them out).

Nah it's cool. I was just surprised.

New gyro and cockpit types are completely impossible in MWO because the tonnage of those items are currently rolled into engine weights. The mechlab would have to be overhauled substantially to make them work mechanically.

It makes me a sad panda.

I didn't include the Supercharger either.

Honestly, probably 75% of the stuff in the poll is 'impossible.' But I didn't want to make that judgement call.

Except for the Partial Wing (No) and Supercharger (Kind of a silly piece of equipment when 'fractional engines' are usable).

Also, just to amuse myself, I found what LAMS is going to look like if/when released.

It's possible, the only reason they are rolled into engine weights though is because of how they handle the forced 10 DHS and wanted to avoid the confusion of negative tonnages. So it is "possible" it just isn't very likely. Not to mention most would run the XL gyro without any of the real negative effects of running them and the heavy duty gyro or compact gyro are worthless in MWO. That's the real problem.

Hey, Compact Gyro would like the AWS-9M use all of its CT hardpoints at the same time! Posted Image

More significantly, the Spider 5V could try to equip an ERPPC or maybe 2 ERLL if he's crazy enough.

I'm not really concerned about the "lack of negatives" for XL Gyro due to the current state of faction balancing. Helps give a small nudge to the IS in a non-intrusive way. Plus there will always be mechs that like to use their CT hardpoints and/or run low on critslots (IS gundams really munch through critslots).

I think that Heavy-Duty Gyro should grant immunity or near immunity to cockpit shake effects. Still probably not significant enough to warrant its use, but it's something...

The Compact gyro really isn't useless, though. It is, admittedly, niche, but in theory, it would allow mechs that have center torso hard points to get more out of them.

Which isn't much, but...

That really isn't worth the weight given what those extra hardpoints are, but I guess an argument "could" be made for the compact gyro, just don't think it is a good one.

As for the negative of the XL gyro being it eats crits, it honestly is more worth the crits than Ferro is, in any incarnation.

Still as you said its not your call, i personally like both PartialWing & Superchargers,
to not include them when they are Available and should be added, makes your list Incomplete,

so i ask again, could you add both to the OP, as i think they are both Valid pieces of Clan Tech,
and as such should be added to this list as im sure im not the only person who feels this way,

Supercharger I can understand, but the Partial Wing would require PGI to add a new visual model for the mechs equipping it. I really don't think PGI will go to the work to do that.

The Supercharger could use the same bar as MASC (Because they can stack effects). MASC hurts leg internals and the Supercharger could also hurt legs or the Torsos.

C3 Systems (Master, Slave, Improved) - C3 systems improve communication between units. Unknown benefits to MWO.

It's a bit more complicated than that. C3 allows networked mechs to share targeting telemetry, so I can imagine a few potential effects it brings:

Instantaneous target info:
This one is not really significant, but can be useful for a sniper quickly sighting a mech your C3-mate is engaging.

Bonus crit damage on enemy mechs c3-mates have targeted:
This can increase the effect of focus-fire and would be by itself a powerful ability.

Master computer gains the effects of TAG:
This is something the master computer actually has in lore. I imagine it simply being that any mech you target acts like it has been hit by TAG (which is admittedly what TAG should do anyways instead of needing aim).

Reworked LRMs can lock-on to out-of-sight mechs targeted by C3-mate:
This relies on LRMs being reworked to only allow LOS lock-on. But would be an interesting perk to encourage roles within a lance (C3 spotter and LRM boat).

Part of the reason I didn't include it. Everything else doesn't affect hitboxes - Even the Torso Mount Cockpit (Easily fan wanked, as pretty much every mech has it's head sunk into the torso anyway). But partial wings would be... weird.

But he's right. It's up to the voters.

Partial Wings and Superchargers have been added to both Inner Sphere, and Clan.

Superchargers are easy - Both have access to them, for certain. Partial wings are a bit weirder... Inner Sphere versions only show up in Errata, and one TRO from the 3080s, but Skunk Werks allows for it in 3068. I can't find an official date for it. And as per the other circumstances where its a bit weird and not clear (Stealth Armor, HarJel), I've erred on the side of caution.

I believe anyone who's voted already can delete their vote and try again if they wish.
