We have all these patches related to mechs and content and the timeline slated but everyone forgot about what the next thing in computing was cir. 1985: SMELL O VISION.

Can the devs add smell to the game and if not why? What smells do you want to experience in the game?

If all you want to smell is burnt electronics and the smell of man sweat, then sure. But honestly, if you wanted to smell those, you could just overclock your computer and turn up the heat in your house.

I lol.

I would add self driving cars to that list.

The "smell of burnt ozone" wafting over you after you fire a PPC might be kinda cool though.

Imagine how much MC they could charge for custom smells! Russ you are missing a great opportunity here!

Only way I would want that is if I got the ability to have it give me only the smell of sea salt. Maybe injections of that chlorine/bleach smell whenever I kill an enemy. (Yes I actually like that smell)

You do realize that this would require an advanced chemical system able to emulate a wide variety of smells for games that integrate this feature, and that there is at least ONE modding enthusiast out there who can and WOULD go out of his way to add smells to old games? And at least a dozen different YouTubers who'd have reactions to this.

It's just for this game and can't they just use lasers or waves or something out of the tv?

MechWarriors wear neurohelmets. I imagine that fitered air doesn't really smell anything.

No. That's not how smell works. Back in the 90's or early 2000's a theatre made a smell-o-vision system for a few gimmicky films and it turned out horribly. Both in smell and cost-effectiveness.

I'm more interest on how Battlemechs and and ER Large Lasers smell like.

Come to think of it, why does BT weapons sound like restaurant menu

I’ll have two AC10s, a Large Pulse Laser, a SRM 6 with Artemis, an AC5, two Medium Lasers, one with Extended Range, and a Large Laser

the bigger issue is the erasing of smell, because no matter if usd in cinema, tv or pc, if scenes change it is hard to repalce one smell with another. you can end sounds and visuals at any time and change them, but smell doesn't work like that. So you are left with those inhaling devices as the only chance, but that isn't very convnient to wear all time..

Well, mostlikely they smell similar to cars, not much at all unless new. and sicne emchs can operate in vacuum, you wouldn't smell any lasers anyway.
