Preface:

This is just a suggestion, it's how i think the Urbanmech IIC should be done. The quirks are IFFY, i am not a balancing god, likewise i don't know if the hardpoints would be balanced. The core change to the Urbanmech IIC is that it's now a 35-tonner, than 30-tonner, yes it's a retcon. I did so because i did find that the Urbanmech isn't as capable with heavy ballistic weapons, now in addition of light-weight Clan ballistic weapons, it should be capable of heavy ballistic weapons -- a mini assault as i would have liked it. As for the engine capacity, 100 - 210, I chose 210 because i don't want it to become rather fast that it straight up competes with Jenner.

Aesthetic Design:

The UAC10 and UAC20 as opposed of side-by-side barrels, would have over-under barrels. Likewise the new Urbanmech IIC would still be just as large as the original Urbanmech, only it's blocky, octogonal or hexagonal while the original is circular.

Description (copied from Sarna):

The UrbanMech IIC is a Clan upgrade of the original UrbanMech. Around the same time as the development of the OmniMech during the Golden Century, Clan Coyote technicians reworked this venerable design. They studied battle data from as far back as the Amaris Civil War and used this research as the basis for their upgrades. The UrbanMech (known as the Urbie to its fans and detractors alike) though cheap, it was an efficient combat vehicle with solid performance considering it's alloted equipment, and it would be worth more than two minutes of combat with quality upgrades and equipment invested in it. The Clan Coyote proceeded to upgrade the design, in addition of increasing tonnage to 35, without increasing it's size, resulting into a small yet powerful sentinel for each cities, the people's champion.

They upgraded the autocannon to a Type 9 Ultra Autocannon/20 and the Small Laser to two Series 1 Extended Range Medium Lasers. The more advanced Clan technology allowed the technicians to increase the 'Mech's speed by fifty percent and improve its jumping capacity to 90 meters, in addition of using 6.5 tons of Ferro-Fibrous armor and Endo-Steel skeleton, with 10 double heat-sinks. While the Coyotes field the most UrbanMech IICs, the 'Mechs are also fielded by the Snow Ravens, Ice Hellions, and Hell's Horses, usually as valiant defenders of cities as the first and last defense.

Weapons and Equipment:

Designed as an efficient urban combat vehicle, the UrbanMech IIC improves upon its predecessor by utilizing an Ultra AC/20 that allows the 'Mech's main gun to fire twice as fast as the old version in addition of punching much harder, though the MechWarrior must still watch ammo consumption carefully despite 4 tons of ammunition. The two ER Medium Lasers also functions as backup weapons that allows the design to stay in the fight after its ammunition has run out, likewise it can hit what the UAC/20 is unable to reach.

TONNAGE: 35
ENGINE: 100 - 210
ARMOR: 238

Variants:

Quote

UM-IIC-A: An attempt for a reconnaissance configuration, the UAC/20 and the 2 ER-Medium-Lasers are replaced, as well as the engine has been upgraded to XL200. It has two Anti-Missile System with 1 ton of ammunition each. It has an ECM Suite on the right arm, with an ER Large-Laser and a NARC Missile Beacon with 2 tons of ammunition. On the other arm is a TAG and an ER-Small-Laser. The remaining 2 tons is alloted for two extra heat sinks.

UM-IIC-B: A refit of the original for sieging and artillery support, it forgoes two Jump Jets and it swaps the UAC/20 for an ATM/12 and MM/8 with three tons of ammunition each, and the two ER-Medium Laser with two ER Small-Laser instead.

UM-IIC-C: Designed as a sniper, the C variant swaps the UAC/20 for a Gauss Rifle with 2 tons of ammunition. The engine has been upgraded to XL170 and with it is immense mobility.

UM-IIC-D: An overhaul of the Urbanmech IIC notable for it having two large arms, it is designed for anti-aircraft role used enmasse for great effect. Scattered to cities in great numbers often blending with the buildings, shutting down batteries are completely tedious and would have dealt a great deal of damage to the attackers in the process, making skirmishes to cities unjustifiable.

Each torso has an Anti-Missile System with 1 ton of ammunition, not a lot by itself but usually working with large numbers it can defend against large volleys of missiles. Each Arm has 1 UAC2 with two tons of ammunition, and a Machine Gun with one-half ton of ammunition. The engine has been downgraded to XL100, and two Jump-Jets has been removed. For close-range backup purposes, there are one ER Small-Lasers in each torso at a total of two.

UM-IIC-SN3:

One of the original mechs owned by the Comstar Chief Engineer, Yuna Cassel, the UM-IIC-SN3 "Sentry" is one of her first mech she built her own, and to pilot, during her teenage years, even before her job at Comstar. Used with great impunity she repelled the Clan scouts invading of her hometown in Capella V with a surprising sustained suppressive fire. At first she was thought of the enemy, until she actually fired upon them. With her interference, she was arrested, and with her knowledge and ability to utilize Clan-Technology, she was conscripted to work with Comstar to further her career, and further their understanding with the alien Clan Technology.

Built from spare parts of various Urbanmechs, Yuna Cassel all alone in some hangar spent months assembling everything, and then another month rewiring everything; from the faulty cockpit, to the weapons, with improvements of her own. Sturdier construction, heavily armored right arm.

The right arm comes with a heavily customized ultra-autocannon 10; rebored to auto-cannon 5 caliber, but the lower energy shell failed to cycle the weapon properly and would sometimes jam, requiring her to link the weapon with an external motor driving the system, resulting into an astounding rate of fire and more reliable functioning that would later be developed to the Rotary Autocannon technology.

The RAC5 has three tons of ammunition. Below the (prototype) Rotary-Autocannon is a Target Acquisition Gear with a more focused lense, used for spotting, for long-range targeting, essentially the laser sights that compensated with the faulty targeting system. On the other arm are two Clan Streak-SRM2s, with one ton of ammunition. For defensive measures, it has a single anti-missile system with one ton of ammunition on the right torso.

Equipped with 145 Extra-light engine and 5 extra double heatsink, it was much faster than many other Urbanmechs, though it only has three Class V jump-jets as opposed to four.

Tonnage increase is gonna stir up the hornet' nest. I personally find the lore 30 tons to be completely fine, as Clan weapons are lighter and hits harder. I'm pretty sure Clans will have a 35 tonner that is much better suited to the heavy ballistic role, in the future. Heck, Adder currently can do the CUAC20 pocket Assault role.

Unless it's a JM7. 70 ton Jagermechs get a pass.

Speaking of which, they should totally release a 70 ton Jagermech. Minor cosmetic tweeks, bam, easy release, and an ECM mech I actually want to pilot.

The UAC/20 is terrible though.

#RevertcUACNerfs

I seriously miss being able to use my Stormcrow B lore build effectively.

Yeah but, I'd like the Urbie IIC be a pocket assault too. :P

Well, MOAR!!!

I also brainstormed with the variants, any criticisms aside from being a 35-tonner?

Supposed that PGI did made Urbie a pocket assault with 35 tons. Would the variant be okay, OP, or something?

Are you still talking about a pay walled mech, or a new chassis?

If it's the first, **** off. If it's the second, I'd remain indifferent to it. The only super weight mech I have eyes for is the JM7.

It's not going to be paywalled. The UM-IIC, UM-IIC-A, UM-IIC-B, UM-IIC-C, and UM-IIC-D, should all be available for CBills.

Would the said C-Bill standard variants would be balanced or something?

That's just lore. As long as Urbie goes 81 KPH+, the engine is viable.
