I've never heard of this term until last night. What does it mean?

Might help if you could give the context and where you heard it.

One can only assume that some kid's teacher is a Battletech Enthusiast and gave his Class the opportunity for extra credit by analyzing MechWarrior 4 or MechWarrior Online. That would potentially make sense in a game design class.

What's your feelings on your likeness being used on a toy for the end of pencils in the 90s?

Assuming that the context you are referencing is this thread: https://mwomercs.com...g-faction-play/

Extracurricular mechwarrior is referring to private lobby scrims and competitive matches that are occurring outside of the money making queues in MWO (QP, GP, FP). The term was probably used instead of "competitive" due to the connotations of competitive and in an effort to be somewhat derogatory. It was used in reference to Isengrim challenging EVIL to a scrim and then Mech the Dane calling them out when they wouldn't accept it. It's basically parodying the "EVIL is ruining FP" threads and minimizing competitive play by referring to practice scrims, competitive matches, and private lobby challenges as "extracurricular mechwarrior".

The whole point is just to take a jab at ISEN (perhaps the rest of the comp teams too) and isn't really a real term, e.g. nobody really uses it outside of the one thread that I'm referencing. It's possible that it's something else too I guess, but that's my read on the situation.

tl;dr
A term made up as part of FP drama between EVIL and ISEN. Nothing to see here. Move along.

Does that mean there's a curricular mechwarrior?

I guess the requisite grinding for XP and Cbills would be considered "curricular," right?
