I just put this idea in a thread about increasing gauss bonuses. but it would make a cool idea in itself as it goes farther.

I called it TPD or SPD. Twerk Precharge Device or servomatic precharge device.

It's an item installed in the mech or a bonus in the new skill tree. Like a mod.

It works by making all servers/joint/motors move to build up electricity charge/pressure for velocity based weapons, whatever they use, at the expense of heat and time.

Either the mechs wiggle around(like twerking or other dancing) or the servoes simply spin making lots of heat. This is held down for so long until a charge is made. You then have x ammount of shots to fire of at increased velocity/maxrange. This can come in two varieties. One charge with X bonsus. Or one charge bar with multiple bars in it so you can partially charge to the desired ammount of shots. It's basically a back pressure system in the mech fed into all velocity base weapons.

What it gives is all 2x ranged veloctiy weapons become 3x max range for x shots. This means you can precharge the gauss and other weapons to longer ranges. Possibly with velocity bonuses. Or we assume the velocity bonus is in the 3x range extentsion. all other stats are the same.

YOu can either do full change with bonuses to how many shots and a longer charge. Or a bar with more bars on the end for longer max charge. This means you can charge all motors and hold x long range shots for your weapons for a short time.

You would not be able to move while charging and it would cost x heat per second to charge. Say 4 heat per second. If you have sufficient heat sinks this is not an issue. but if not you will build up heat.

Starts wtih 4 charges possibley and upgradeable. Takes 1 second per bar charge(partial and full charge). with possible upgrades to speed of charge if not overpowering. Say upgrade to .5 second or .75 seconds per bar/charge. Increased charge time can increase the heat relatively also.

I put up the idea because it would be funny to watch a guass mech dancing to get their range bonus back in the back of the match! ><

Summary:

You have this mech installed with a bonus of +2 charge and 50% charge time. It takes 3 second to build up max charge of 6 shots. The gauss mech with daul gauss can now fire off 3 salvos of 2x gauss shots at 3x old range bonus. If he had any other 2x base missile/balistics weapons they would now fire 3x range untill charges are used up.

If partial charge he can hold the charge button untill x/6 charages are filled at 50% rate. then go fire his weapons.

Edit: Funny idea. Base speed charging is just the servos/motors spinning. But the extra speed charges are more movement to get more charge. Hence the Twerking/Dancing. Maybe with different dances at differnt speeds assuming there is not just one bonus. Then people can see the speed of the charge by the type of movement.

Animations:
I'm going to ruin every wedding for the rest of time with this but:
1. Base build up(1sec/bar/charge) Animation:Servoes rev up getting hotter and building heat. You see red hot parts around the mech heating up while in charge mode.(4heatpersecond)
2. 75% time(.75 seconds per bar/Charge) Animation: Mech starts moving up and down at his joints and swinging his arms. Like a sqaut with arm movements or a twerk if you want. (+25% heat for 5 heat per second.)
3. 50% time(.5 seconds per bar/charge) Animation: Same as version2 but with wild arm movement looking like a squating funky chicken. The twerky chicken! (+50% heat for 6 heat per second.)

Alternatively, if we live in the dirty dancing universe version of Mech Warriors, the first animation can be used for all or speed up with brighter heat spots for visual cues as to enemy skill level. 8d

Bonuses for extra charges and speed up of the charges are separate skills.

Examples:

Base charge is 4 second(full/or partial max) charge for 4 seconds(1 per second) and 16 heat max/total.
4 charges at 75% speed = 3 seconds for 15 heat max/total.
4 charges at 50% speed = 2 seconds for 12 heat max/total.
5 charges at 100% speed = 5 seconds for 20 heat max/total.
5 charges at 75% speed = 3.75 seconds for 18.75 heat max/total.
5 charges at 50% speed = 2.5 seconds for 15 heat max/total.
6 charges at 100% speed = 6 seconds for 24 heat max/total.
6 charges and 75% percent time = 4.5 seconds total/max charging for 22.5 heat!
6 charges and 50% percent time = 3 seconds total/max charging for 18 heat!

etc.

Any combo of charges/ time can exist up to maximum.

The charging can actually work with these potential options:
1. HoldCharge. You have to hold it the entire way till it's charge and you get x shots. No partial charging. If you let go you loose everything.
2. ChargeToCompletion(AKA one press). Same as previously but no letting go of the charge. You are in virtual or literal shutdown/cooldown mode and will wake up when the charge is finished making you vulnerable during charging.
3. PartialCharge. You are like the first option but can let go to stop charging with whatever number of charges you reaped from your time.
4. Disruptions. Any of the above versions but with the added problem of being shot stopping the charge automatically. Meaning enemies can stop you from charging with love taps. So can friendly fire.
5. MovementOption(s). If absolutely desired you can allow movement while chargeing . But if you did it should double the charging time while moving . Possibly halving the heat. Might open up it's use for light and other mechs that can't boat heat but move alot. for option2 this could mean no weapons fire during charge if movement is allowed. Or movement makes the heat/second go to normal while doubleing the heat or something else. Add other penalties as needed.
6. FillUpCharge: You could also potentially consider if partial charges could happen while the mech has charges. If so you can start charging with charges and fill the rest of the bars remaining. This could be doable in all other variants.

** Thinking about it all version would need a bar display. But would fill up differently. You would need to see how many shots are left.

This mod/skill would only affect 2x base weapons ranges and only for balistic and missile. If not only ballistic. Unless this could also affect PPC assuming it has a 2x base. If a velocity bonus is given on top of the range bonus it could affect all velocity based weapons including PPCs. Even if they don't get the extra range bonus.

This item might help curb pure energy weapon use and get more balistic/misile weapons in use as they can get better range. It might not help with the hill hiding problem though. as more mechs might sit back and charge all day. I guess the smart ones would charge then push.. Or the versions could be allowed to make it easier to charge while moving to get people to not sit back all the time.

It's natural counter would be the enemy charging it. It could leave more vulnerabilities while using making it easier to get charged and killed.

It probably wouldn't /couldn't work on machine guns or other non ammo/ one shot base weapons. Unless you went from charges to time where the bar timed down and fireing lowered the bar faster. It depends what the system is meant to boost.

Another fun idea if it were to really involve dancing. Each mech could have a unique dance. But I imagine that would be a lot of work. Or they could sell dances like they do camo... maybe you could load a dance per mech at a time.

I didn't know this stuff already existed.

I like the urbie one. Urbie super charge!! ><

Are there any safety dance versions? Maybe sledge Hammer?!

That Atlas is in winters post is kind of already doing the Sledge hammer...

Play the urbie and atlas video with sound off while playing the sound from the sledgehammer video!

They both fit this well also! >< We need some rocklobster. Would crab do? Or can we get some lobster?
