This is by far the longest updated thread with constant fan support and artwork update for an incredible span of over 2 years.

The thread is longer than my playing career.

So I just want to know whether such a mech is even in the consideration for future releases? I mean, as much as I like the Hellhound (MW4) and other mechs, there has not been such a dedication as the people in that thread.

In the meantime:

You've announced 3060 mechs
You've gone off-canon to create your own "PGI" mech
You've gone to explore mechs not even on fans' radar

So why not announce something with such a broad support? It's also a very unique Inner Sphere Chicken Leg, which up till now, is pretty much a Clan patent.

So why not make this happen?

There's tons of mechs competing to get added and now with the tech jump there are even more mechs in the running.

That said I absolutely love it that you're bringing up my thread and advocating the Nightstar.

I like the Thug, but I worry that it will just end up as a Zeus 2.0, sharing the same torso hit boxes with just few different hard point combinations and chicken legs.

I don't really like Assaults, so I just reckon if I am going to get one, it's gotta be one of the few I like.... whether it's actually good or not. THug is my favorite Assault in TT.

Of course, it would probably end up like my Warhammer... collecting dust, because Alphawarrior doesn't want you to use actual Warhammers... just MetaTurdHammers.

What's interesting is the Nightstar beat the Hauptmann and Longbow. Also this poll shows nostalgia is still a huge reason for a mech getting released. Case in point the Annihilator would compete for worst mech in mwo unless it gets lucky with an engine cap increase and losing it's neck which a fair number of it's fans are against.

The Nigtstar is probably one of the more popular mechs that have never been in a game but it's real selling points for most are it'd be strong in mwo, sexy looks and fills up the 95t slot more.

Haha using the old tro artwork? Like that's even fair. As FLG showed there is a fair amount of excellent interpretations in the Nightstar thread and I bet Alex would do wonders if given the chance to draw it.

Fair enough. I guess a similar statement could be made about perception. I don't really see similarities other than general things like both are chicken walkers with a long body. I see more Marauder or EBJ.

Me too. that's kinda my first perception too. What made EBJ so awesome to me, was that it had a body that looked like one of those 80s bad@ss fighter jet, before computers made them all ******** and the same looking (eg F22, F35, T-50, whatever crap China got, and that Japanese Gundam plane.)

And nightstar pretty much look like that. So... awesome, in another word.

Nightstar would be an extremely solid assault mech for the Inner Sphere but I suspect the next IS assault we will see with the tech jump will be the Fafnir

Not nearly iconic or classic enough to be considered. Would rather have Sunder.
