Direwolf isn't really a good pick right now, against other meta-jockey mechs it's more of a liability really.

My build is 3x UAC5 + 2x UAC10 + 1 ERML, and i scored 443 dmg last match. Is that good?

Tier 1 asking those questions proves tier is XP bar and not actual indication of skill.

More like a "I've played enough MWO matches to be considered a regular" bar.

Strange question for someone in Tier 1 but if you're serious, I'd say no.

With such a meta build, you really should be looking at the 700+ bracket IMO.

How many does it take to be a 'regular?' Or have I out-potatoed PSR?

Considering that it's not really a good pick right now, shouldn't we not expect so much from it?

EDIT:

I did 770 dmg on my 3rd game though. Posted Image

Took me 2363 matches to grind to T1. Took awhile, especially once I stopped playing frequently, though some people bust out like 1000+ matches a month, I don't even know how they get drops that fast, not to mention 1000 matches in a 30 day month would take about 11 hours a day every day to do.

you definitely need to play more. 3K matches should be considered a "regular" for MWO.

You shouldn't, as a Kodiak -3 can dakka better than a dire wolf. (No, don't use the "it has more ballistics argument people :P )

But, the Dire does have more synergy to it, meaning that weapon groups are more tightly clustered to one another.

I just realized I'll soon have more posts than matches played. I'm becoming a true forum warrior.

Oh God, that'll take forever, since I refuse to leave a match until it's over, even if I die in the first 4 minutes.

Judging by how my PSR bar has been moving, there isn't a chance in hell of me making Tier 1 by 2363. I guess I have out-potatoed the system.

Just yesterday I played my Direwolf for the first time in about a year. Got 900 damage and 1 kill. I pilot it with 8 small pulses and 4 uac5s.

They are still good to use in game but just like any slow mech you have to have for sight of where your team is going to be and be there. If you delay you usually get left behind and become useless because of either light mech swarms or your team just does all the work and you always get to the fight after its over.

But does having more synergy equate in dealing more damage at the entire game? So what if the Direwolf can lash out the most dakka, when kodiak has the speed and survivability to endure the match long enough and even longer to match and exceed what the direwolf could not with it's low survivability?

At times, yes, as if they're all spread out across the mech, chances are the target won't receive all the damage to where you aimed at. A clear example would be the shadowcat with 3srms, or the Ebon Jaguar even.

I think honestly the Kodiak can just do more work in general and is worth taking. if you don't have it already, I recommend you do if you want a good clan assault mech.

When i just did 443, would that be one of the times its not? Yes it can get good score with enough skill and/or luck, but more often it's not right?

I have one, my build is a semi-poker. KDK-3 Hybrid Dakka - 2x Highmounted Gauss + 2x UAC10

I would think so. The build you have has medium range, so it should be pretty high scoring. Unless you get something like Polar or Alpine, you should be able to do fairly well if you set yourself up alright.

That's a interesting build. Full Ballistics. Have you considered making it full "meta" and removing the UACs and placing two mgs and two ppcs on it? Place MGs first and then Gauss Rifles on each side. You'll get the high mounts for the bigger weapons.
