No, it's because players doesn't want to deal with LRMs at all. The majority of LRM usage other there is LRM5 spam, which an AMS is more than capable of handling. But the player base doesn't want to use anything that detracts from their meta builds. EG put that ton into another heatsink or ammo. It's lazy player behavior, and as is typical, they ask for it to be "fixed".
I've once equipped a Crab with 3 AMS and to be honest, it doesnt feel like it actually protected me much from LRMs and I was being cautious while using terrain. Basically I didnt feel much different from where I didnt equip a single AMS at all. They aren't reliable, especially if you are facing a stream of LRMs because they are too slow and at certain angles, sometimes they are wholly ineffective.
I took them off because terrain cover and radar deprivation are your only solution when targeted by LRMs. AMS looked awesome and thats it.

But if you take it into Mechwarrior Academy, and then go to a pedestal and swap to another mech (I prefer the Cicada), it will put your Bushwacker on its own pedestal just to the left of Captain Adams. If you nudge your Bushwacker forward by ramming it, you can push it onto the sensor and it will power up so that you can poke at it with a medium lasers and investigate the hitboxes in detail from any angle you like.

It has the weirdest geometry out of all the mechs in MWO so it's no surprise.

Treffer von vorne/ Seite auf das letzte Ende der Flosse treffen die Rückwärtigen Hitboxen. Ein Fix hierfür wäre schön oder ist das gewollt?
You absolutely should not use Machine Guns to check hitboxes. Machine Guns have inherent accuracy (a cone of fire that randomly aims somewhere inside an invisible circle/radius)
Always use lasers.

I totally agree but at this range with one MG the cof is irrelevant. At minute 2:49 you can take a look at a laser hitbox check.

The timing doesn't seem right for that rear damage to have been caused by your SRMs. That Bushwacker was running AC/2s, wonder if it was an ammo explosion that did the rear damage?
I fired two salvos of 3x SRM6 each; the first hit the front armor, the second hit the rear.

they GENERALLY seem pretty tanky, great hitboxes and amazingly efficient at spreading due to thin CT. but my last game i was running an srm shadowcat and face to face with a guy, all yellow armor front no armor rear ct/st.
nice fat srm alpha on his nose,
his ct/st front all went yellow to orange. but his internals went from yellow to red.
mind you we were cockpit to cockpit and last survivors. there wasnt anyone else to shoot him and no way i hit a rear ct when i spread against both ST and the CT front with my barrage. something is glitchy on those mechs.
