Perhaps this is kinda over the top, and expensive to implement:

Build in voice activated commands, like choose group to fire, override shutdown, target next, etc etc

Why: this would make the game even more realistic and kicka$$....

Over the top and expensive...jah! But ooh so great!... I think ^^)

You can get a program to run on your computer that enters key combos for your voice commands.
I used to use one for flight sims but forget the name.

No need to be built in.

yeah probably not going to happen. Voice recognition is still a little hit and miss anyway, and it would kind of suck to be screaming "COMPUTER! OVERRIDE SHUTDOWN GOD DAMNIT" and have it turn on light amplification instead.

I could just see talking to teammates be a problem.

"Okay, just go around the right and I'll push him out to you."
*Shutting down*
"Ack! *********! I wasn't talking to you!"
*Self destruct in 5-*

There are standalone programs for this express purpose; now if we can be certain that the game itself will have extensible macroing, it would make this easier for said programs to do it. A push-to-voice-command setting would be key, since I also plan to be in Teamspeak at the same time for rapid comms. Teamspeak talk key bound to one mouse button, the voice command key to another, and I'm good to go.

I am now working on my own Voice Activated Commands setup. I am using VAC software own profile, Warthog HOTAS control with mod for mini-trackball and AutoHotKey scripts.
Actually my goal is to be able to fight with my Catapult mech without any mouse and keyboard in my everyday combat simulator pit for real A-10C aircraft.
I am trying with VAC software to control functions of mech using voice commands and receive additional feedback after launching commands with extra audio messages (bitchin' betty) that are not in-game.
I run TS3 too, there is simple way to avoid TS3 users hearing your voice commands but you must have HOTAS and be used to use multi-way MIC SWITCH (PTT) as in real combat aircraft. This is where I need AutoHotKey script, that emulates virtual F14 key that is bind in VAC software as PTT for voice commanding.
Because I plan to play this game in the end using Oculus Rift VR headset inside my pit, no keyboard or mouse will ever be involved in my gameplay.
edit:
So far turning away from keyboard+mouse in MWO to throttle and stick and voice commands is terrible for gameplay and I do not advise to anyone.
