I played all the prvious MechWarrior games. I finished all the single player campaigns in a matter of a few hours and then either switched to multiplayer or shelved the game. No AI matches the unpredictability of human players. It is simple as that. I enjoy the challenge and the diversity of human opponents. I am not here for recognition. I am not here to fill some void in my life. I am not here to compensate for real life inadequacies. I am just here to have some fun and, in my experience, PvP offers more ong term fun than single player.
I will buy BattleTech and Mechwarrior 5 but as long as there are still servers running with MWO on them then I will play it.

How Important Is The Multiplayer Aspect Of Mechwarrior To You?

HBS BT - I am not interested in. Not a fan of that style of game.
MW5 - I will buy it and I am sure I will play it a few times and probably off and on over the years.
MWO - I will return to this game when I want my PvP fix. It's nice to just have the mech you want to run, build it out the way you want and see how the mech performs for you against others. I do hope PGI changes the MWO game engine to match up to MW5 so they will hopefully have the same "mech" feel and look.
I also wouldn't mind seeing some Co-op PvE missions built into MWO. Basically keeping MWO as the Multiplayer component for PGI's MW games. Missions that scale to a group size between 1-4 players vs some AI for certain objectives, and maybe even have a difficulty level players could set. Have some achievement goals for these challenge missions, maybe decal and title unlocks. Something on the side that can be fun tests for our mech builds outside of the PvP competitive setup. And could help train new players easier instead of throwing them right into Quick Play. Maybe they could even sell these challenge mission packs for another source of income besides the Mech Packs. I mean eventually some of us will come to our senses that we probably have enough mechs.

For some reason Mechwarrior is the only game...ever...that I actively played multiplayer. In fact, I played MW4 for nearly 8 years strictly multiplayer (I never did the campaign). All other games I have ever played (mostly MMO's) have been solo play. An occasional grouping in Lotro would be an exception (I also did a little PVP in Lotro years ago).
I don't know what it is about Mechwarrior and multiplayer but I wouldn't have it any other way. However, I will play the campaign for MW5 when it comes out.
