In our timeline Mechthedane is just a dude who plays videogames on the interwebs and wears a funny hat instead of fighting against the norse gods of the past or off in the future being a real space viking.

This is mathematically true..

Born too early to be a space viking, born too late to be a real Jarl, born just in time to LARP

Well when the timeline jumps, Dane can become a Space Viking Bear, or is it Space Bear Viking, not sure what kind of hat he will be wearing then, should be amusing to see what he comes up with.

Just looking at the maps of the IS in the 3060s, the space vikings do still have a little patch of land so I spose you can keep the same hat.

Although I would vote for Mischief's pictured hat, for the lolz.

I am trying to imagine what would happen to me in such a timeline.

Am I fighting as part of the 5 hold out worlds? Leading desperate raids against the Clans with my extremely limited resources? Barely more than a Pirate-Jarl with his tattered Royal KungsArme?

Or, in order to better lead my people, did I stay with the bulk of our population and earn myself a place in the Warrior Caste as all capable bondsmen are wont to do. And then fight my way up, one Holmgang/Trial of Refusal at a time until the very leadership of Clan Ghost Bear bends before me.

I like option 2, from memory the leadership of the Ghost Bear Dominion had representatives from both GB and Space Vikings so im sure there would be a place for you.

I mean there would be perks..

Just I always imagined me as a desperate hold out rather than.. enslaved.

Maybe I'll hold a mini-event and give them a chance to make me a bondsmen, that could be fun.

Also I just tweeted Russ about factions because now I am intrigued.

I picture you as a nerd and armchair general, LARPing and posing funny videos to work the last of the holdouts up into a frothing frenzy to overthrow the local Clans.... for, like, 3 hours before they go watch Netflix.

I suspect the BT universe would be way less exciting IRL.

Comedy aside, an event for the FRR vs CGB loyalists for potentially changing the "default" map would be very cool. Does the FRR population get absorbed into the Clan population as bondsman? Do you break the lore, exceed expectations and drive the Bear from the Republic in a viking frenzy?

That would probably be the coolest loyalist event I could imagine. FRR wins, CGB can't vote for FRR worlds (making FRR worlds less likely to be up for bid), if FRR loses they get their faction symbol changed to Ghost Bear Dominion and are Clanners.

I'd want to go further. If FRR wins; Ghost Bear Ceases to be a player faction in MWO and we jump ahead to the Rasalhague Dominion. And remain an IS faction. If Ghost Bear wins we go to Ghost Beat Dominion, the FRR ceases to exist and we become a Clan faction.

Thread title is misleading.

I came for the dank, but there is no dank.

The dank is a lie.

Meh. I see him more as a Viking Space Bear. Or maybe a bearable Space Viking.

That would be badass.

Bigger question-

We don't want to introduce mixed tech, so would the Rasalhague Dominion be Clan or IS mechs?

No mixing, no sharing either, that would be unfair. However..

Would the RD be an IS faction fielding Clan tech? That could be fun.
