I'm very aware of it.
I'm aware it's another boring laser vomit robot.
I'm aware it has mediocre hitboxes, with the arms being useless for blocking.
I'm aware it's hoverjets will likely be a waste of tonnage.
I'm also aware that there are multiple better Assault Mechs, like the Gunslinger. Which, coincidentally only wastes 1 ton per useless hoverjet vs 2, and has ballistics to go with the 6 energy hardpoints, 4 of which would be as high as the ballistics on the KDK3.
Just saying.
LMAO... are you ignoring the -9D. So disappointed in you bishop.
But no, the Gunslinger with its low mounted ballistics is not the answer.

But. TBH, I'd take a Gunslinger, Cerberus, Templar, Charger, Nightstar and well... a lot more before I'd really get excited with the Sag.
Templar is 100% inferior, Cerberus can do multiple ballistics better, but its strictly better than the Nightstar and the Gunslinger. There is no debate with the Gunslinger, and the Nightstar is very close to the Sagittaire, but the Sagittaire is slightly better just because its dual gauss wouldn't be quite as wide.

It would be the best dual ER PPC dual Gauss mech the IS could muster as far as I can tell.

Really depends on the question. More instagib metarape? Yes, by all means that is exactly what this game needs more of!
Also, that Variant packs a C3 module, something I highly doubt PGI has the ability to code properly (or are simply too lazy), which means I doubt we'll be seeing it. C3 is pretty high on the list of NopeTech.

PGI would probably remove the C3 like they removed the A-Pods on the Loki Prime.

They MIGHT remove it. They've also avoided stuff. Just like I doubt we'll see Stealth Armor, MML or ATMs (even though there have been some good alternatives offered to the switch ammo issue). I find banking on PGI to do something new, rather foolish, much like the assumption that was being made on previous Threads that if they added the Kingfisher it would "obviously" have massive quirks to accommodate it having a Standard Engine.
Plus I freely admit, my idea of Baskin Robbins and yours seem to differ from mine. I just don't find 31 different flavors of Vanilla very interesting.

We already have "instagib metarape" if that's what you want to call it on the Clan side, I don't see why releasing a similar thing on the other side is a bad thing.
What does the Gunslinger/Cerberus/Nightstar do that isn't instagib metarape. The Nightstar will basically be the same thing as the Sagittaire just with slightly less QoL features, like the wide arms. Granted, if PGI can't figure out how to substitute something else in for that C3, then yeah I will lose interest in the mech. Yeah, the Gunslinger can probably do a slow Battlemaster build with JJs.. but that isn't that new either. I'm just trying to find a way to "instagib metarape" in an IS mech, not just Clan mechs, but **** me, right?

Not always that huge of a deal when trading at range. The important thing is that you don't have bombs in those side torsos.
Also looks to have XL friendly hitboxes.

I suppose it's not a requirement, but if a KDK-3 could take them, it would and it would be even more powerful than it is now.
I don't think dual gauss is a requirement for a top tier IS heavy.
And when you have to mount in both arms, you lose convergence and you lose tonnage that you could have shaved (which increases weight adv gap for Clan builds further)
I really don't see much point in trying to out Night Gyr the Night Gyr with IS tech. It's not going to be as good.
As such, I'd prefer it to be able to go faster.
Which means I guess you might prefer the Nightstar because it offers a 400 capable variant. Still, one of the better KDK builds is dual gauss, dual cerppc so If the IS got the Sagittarius we'd be in somewhat better shape when compared to the clans.
If you're ranking potential IS assaults for their power/meta-ness the Sagittarius should be in everyone's top 3, minimum. If we get Racs this summer you could do 2 Rac5 & 3LpL which would tear through just about anything.

I would like you to meet the Sagittaire, laser boating meta types can rejoice in something better then a Wubshee!

SGT-8R
The Sagittaire has a large and varied arsenal built around energy weapons. For long-range combat, it has a single Defiance 1001 ER PPC. Once theSagittaire gets its opponent in medium to close ranges it can bring its full fury to bear. Its primary weapons are a pair of Magna 900P Large Pulse Lasers backed up by five Magna 600PMedium Pulse Lasers, two of which are rear mounted, and finally a single Magna 200P Small Pulse Laser. All of these weapons are linked to an advanced Targeting Computer, allowing the Sagittaire to eviscerate its opponents in close combat.
SGT-9D
The Medium Pulse Lasers have been traded for Medium Lasers but the Small Pulse Laser and ER PPC remain in place. All the other weapons have been replaced by a pair of LB 10-X autocannons and a C3 Master Computer. The lighter heat load allowed engineers to remove four double heat sinks.

Don't get too excited, it won't laser boat better than a Wubshee because the Wubshee can mount a bigger engine which means more dhs slots. It's big strength is it's ballistic variant

Just so sexy and I love to run this beauty, all highmounts and can get a good engine size for decent speed.

"LOOK AT ME! I HAVE ALL THE WEAPONS!"
Still, so long as it doesn't get added before the Fafnir, should be fun to pilot.
The BattleMaster BLR-4L would cover the ECM and JJ option, however...

This BattleMaster variant first seen in 3081 is unique to the Capellan Confederation. Equipped with Stealth Armor and a Guardian ECM Suite to power it, the traditional weaponry has been replaced with a Light Gauss Rifle and MML-7, supported by a Light PPC and ER Medium Laser in each torso. It also carries three jump jets, allowing it to cover 90 meters at a time. A Light Fusion Engine provides power and increases survivability. BV (2.0) = 1,932[32]
