Turning speed is much greater when your speed is less than 100%....so you can track a light if your speed is 80-90% and a Wolfhound can turn inside a Locust if its speed is 80-90% and if a light gets behind you and knows this...see you in the next drop.

I call it the "Circle of Death".
What I need (I've never been a gamer) is for someone to video where and how their fingers move. I know what I'm supposed to do but not how to do it.
I have found out that it is a combo of clicking the left or right button along with the forward one. I think the biggest thing I lack is practice. I rarely play lights and rarely try to do it.
I think I've done in well one time.
But with 1v1 coming, it is time for everyone to learn it. Maybe even me....

The slower you go the tighter you can turn. I usually go full right or left and use the forward trottle to get the right radius and speed to stay in my opponents back.
The circle is a great finishing move but i personally prefer to first boom n zoom wearing my opponent down.

I discovered by chance perfect circle:
constant press forward,
adjust left or right
and the trick - thumb always on center legs to torso.

One of the best parts of this game is killing lights that try to eat me for lunch when in an assualt mech.
As the Beef says: You gotta shoot them.
Stay chill and practice hitting somthing 10 pixels in size moving fast.
Truck missing who cares, just try and dont neg yourself out. Eventually you get better and light mech dont have much armour
Lots of good advice form others, in summary
Slow turns sharper than fast
Reverse sharper than forward.
When I get a light mech on my tail in my Anni
I SLAM REVERSE AND PICK A DIRECTION (say right) and TWIST MOI TORSO THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION (yes left)
I unlock my arms if they got weapons (Line 2 coz its less important than above)
After a second of turning in reverse in a certain direction I SWAP
Turn left torso right still reversing
one second swap again
Turn right torso left still reversing
one second swap again
Turn left torso right still reversing
etc
You will find that the light eventually orbits in front of your mech and crosshair (Keep Swaping in reverse till he does)
And when he does be ready to blast him has they cross your reticle.
Works with most light pilots, the ones for whom it doesn't are few and far between
Tho still probably not in their best interests that you learn this .
I have used this knowledge to kill predatory light, two lights and sometime 3 lights trying to wax may A$$
Edit: For clarity - I kill one light mech who try backstab, kill2/3 mech who try wolfpack me spirit horse
Cannot kill2/3 who backstab, I only have 23 rear armour
2nd Edit: The timing for swapping directions is not actually a second, but that will get you started.
You swap when the light mech is in your back and you cant see them.

I'd like someone to list which mechs turn better. I was playing the free Isuzu and it seemed to turn very fast without any skill points.
Since the skill tree change, I'm never sure how many or what skill nodes would equal the old skills.
For instance, I'd like someone to try to make a skill tree if it was a mech before the change. How much Yaw did they normally get etc?
I've gone from filling all mobility slots to using zero. Because I'm not really sure what matter and what matters to what mech.

Has it been said already? Use throttle. Speed directly doesn't seem to affect the turning speed but throttle position.
I don't normally much play close range lights but now I'm trying to play Solaris with meta build, that is Pheonix Hawk with 8xsmall pulse, and if I try to have somewhat below top speed using just full thottle key (W), it turns clearly slower, compared to using throttle set to 70% or 80%.
And seems like I've previously said, it's a bit difficult for me to switch hand to set the throttle in middle of combat, when the enemy is same kind of mech where I need to use it. Maybe I could take alt key for 70% throttle near the wasd keys.
(just referring to the motion of going around and around your enemy)
