Well, from my time with TT mechwarrior, I know from bitter experience that the K2 works damn well as a ballistics platform. Put two uac/5 on that beast, or even dual gauss, and its a monster. I'll probably get one just for giggles.

I like it since i can strip everything off and then run 2 guass rifels. No heat sinks either... It is suprising how much damage 2 guass rifels can do hitting the same point at the same time.

The K2 is for PPCs basically what the Hunchback is for an AC20 - a gun with legs strapped to it. If i wanted a sniper setup and didn't want the staying power of say, an Atlas (that could easily fit an AC20 AND two PPCs) or something that can easily fit a Gauss, i'd probably have to go for a K2. Though it'd be more of a long range standoff configuration, which is basically what a Cat is in any case.

Though i've never been a huge fan of playing ranged support. My style has almost always been up close.

This is why they need to die in a fire. 2 Gauss where machine guns are is bullpoop.

I already use the config a lot atm over the LRM boat. but that's more cause you don't need a spotter as much and you can dog fight a little more.

Yes. The only thing lifted is letting people know you are in Beta if you have the Founders Tag.

With a little duct tape do you think I could strap some Gauss to it?

Sorry to resurrect, but this post was all too prophetic :D

I'll definitely try out the K2 at some point... probably sooner rather than later.

By the way, how did they install a pair of Gauss on their Cat-K2?

Until the Rifleman comes out, then you'll see more people want that.

Will we see the rifleman in this game due to its design being "unseen" as they call it? I hope so since it was one of my fav mechs of the board game.

I run a K2 with 2 LL & 2 ML and usually do better than my average match in that setup. It's an excellent mid- to close-range brawler. If I run up the heat with the LLs I can keep the attacks up with the MLs. I chose the Catapult Founder's 'mech, so I needed two other 'pults anyway.

For what it's worth, it is possible to put 4 LL in that *****, but I wouldn't recommend it... Trust me.

Posting CLOSED BETA INFO , outside the BETA forums, is in direct conflict with the NDA signed to get into BETA.

Please use discernment in your posts.
