Hello folks,

Can you use your own mech builds in the tutorial area? If not, could that be added to the testing grounds tab?

I would love to do the challenges with my builds.

Thank you,
Adam

The academy? Yes, you can; once you get through the basic training you can bring your own Battlemech in. Just check the box that says "Explore Academy," and you'll drop in whatever 'mech you've currently got selected.

Definitely yes!

But now I'm worried that a lot of players don't realize this!

I figured it out, but I have a background in MMOs and Mechwarrior - maybe add a voice-over or tutorial popup?

Thank you Void Angel and Dave Forsey! I can't wait to test out my mechs there.

To be honest, I didn't even think of just going back to the Academy. I figured it would launch the tutorial again.

How about adding something like this:

Thank you again, I am going to have some fun back in Academy right now!

Make a little subtext under the 'explore academy' checkbox that says (drops in your currently selected 'mech), problem solved.

Additionally, I haven't run this forever so if there isn't one, add a VO at the end of the training saying you can 'explore the academy with your own mech by coming back'.

It would also be nice if the comments about over-heating were removed from the Exploring Academy. I don't need to hear Captain Adams each time I over heat jibber jabber about it. :)

Every time you change the equippment of any of your mechs or use a new one the first time you should do the complete academy challenge.
That way you are aware of the strengths an weaknesses of your mech before you enter the ques.

I always go to the Academy to test out my changed weapons load out or a new mech I have. Just get in and off you go. Just go past the Academy building and it soon will warn you about you entering a live combat area. This is a good way to test out and learn how to improve your fighting and all that. Good luck :)

I use it on those days when it's like 11:58pm and I've just finished tweaking my loadout, but I can't commit the 10-20 minutes for a QP match, so I hop in the Explore Academy and get my last fill of MWO for the night.

Add a weekly or monthly quest to go back there and give us 250,000 c-bills for our trouble. :3

That way when new stuff is added more people can see it.

Dewd - what stopped your progression through the tutorial weapon stage?

More particularly, I think we want to know what the last thing was that happened before it stopped Loading/Progressing through the Tutorial? I have never had a critical problem during the Tutorial myself, except for the one time the game client glitched itself and I had to reload it.

Not sure

Is it possible to get rid of all of the hero mechs and have ONLY mechs you own show up in the training grounds?

This suggestion is a good one and comes up often, check the other threads for discussions. (such as this one:https://mwomercs.com...39#entry5657739)

But the bottom line is:

Quote

Me: Not going to be high on anyone's priority list anytime soon, but a good solution that works within the technical limitations.

I'm happy to keep an eye on things in this forum, but remember I'm on MW5 now - and the Academy is considered "good enough" for the moment.

Hey mates, can we get this feature into MW5? I would love to have a home base were I could try out builds!

Then a big ACE hanger with my mechs Posted Image Then have some *cough clan mechs* attach my home base. Posted Image

*edit, I would love a carbon copy of the Acedemy in MW5 to test my mechs. Again, great job!
