The Magazine Capacity skill node in the Mech Operations tree should grant extra ammunition for missile based weapons as well. SRM, LRM, Streak SRM, NARC and AMS.

Also, please add two more magazine skill nodes to both sides of the Mech Operations tree, somewhere between the Cool Run 2/ Heat Containment 3, and Cool Run 4/ Heat Containment 5 respectively.

While providing a total of 30% more ammunition for your weapon systems, it would still be a really sizeable investment in skill nodes to acquire all three of them, and would further allow players to customize their 'mech.

AMS is projectile weapon and therefore one can expect that ammunition comes in magazines. Rockets are not coming in magazines.

Getting too much ammunition will promote higher alpha strikes with lower heat generation and that's already meta. So why boost something that is already best strategy?

IMO that's a first spark of genius I've seen in here for a while now. We need more skills like this (NO PGI I DIDNT MEAN EXACTLY LIKE IT, what I wanted to say "of similiar out of the ordinary/box branch") one spread around in the skill tree.

Because some 'Mechs, like the Locust and Commando, have variants all but entirely dependent on missiles without the tonnage to adequately feed them? While still being down on firepower to boot?

On the flip side, this would also allow mechs to dedicate less tonnage into ammunition for more heatsinks, larger engine, more armour or whatever the player chooses.

Certainly, it would further enable weapon boaters, but said weapon boats would already have enough ammunition for dealing out a considerable amount of damage to begin with, and the extra skill nodes required for all hypothetical three magazine capacity skill nodes would be a sizeable investment from other things such as torso movement speed.

A magazine is anything that holds ordnance before it is fired, so it works with anything shot out of weapons in MWO. The weapons still can only fire so many shots per trigger pull, so it just means you might have a few more shots.

This will help lighter mechs a lot as they would have more ammo for their ammo based weaponry.

I think the point that some folks are missing is that there needed to be an ammo skill to offset the armor/structure hardening skill trees that are available. If it takes more ammo than you can carry to kill the enemy, it would just encourage energy weapons even more.

this mag cap skill is the worst bullheap i have seen in there. any idea what this will do ?
thanks to skill tree monuculture this is a prime pick for monoboats of LRM and AC2 type.

the only criteria for a mech will be "how many monoculture slots of preferred meta does it have ?"

NOT MY GAME.

It still needs to apply to all non-energy weapons and support systems like AMS and NARC.

I don't know if anyone here has taken that skill. So, how does it work? I have acquired it, but it appears to have no effect. No additional projectiles in the ammo already in the mech... :/

I have tried to buy new ammo. Still 30 shells for AC5 ton...

I tried this for AC20, but there is a bug. 1 ton gives you 8 rounds while 1/2t gives you only 3 rounds.

I think this should either get moved over to the AC slot or be an ALL ammo buff.
While we are at it...what about removeing it from Operations and give every ammo based weapon this skill at the end of the tree?

This way you get it for the weapon that needs it, its logical to find it in your weapons categorie and it would be clear to understand.
I first picked it because "ammo" and only when I looked at the small print I saw "AC only".
Thats pretty missguiding.
