The Black Knight gets some of the quirks it used to have back, bringing it back inline with the old meta Black Knight.

OP: In the PTS BKs 6B and 7 lost most of their PPC quirks, 7L lost heat gen. But because the squirks tree lets you squirk it out in the same was as any other mech, you think that means the BK "is back"?

Ok. Then yes, it is as much "back" as the Jenner "is back", Vindicator "is back", or the Zeus "is back", etc.

Oh wait... I just remembered, this is just another IS nerf and Clan Buff. :(

You do realize the problems with the BK starts with the durability issues and not so much the offensive capabilities?

I guess I need to clarify the details for the people who cannot see beyond some pretty numbers.

The Black Knight was nerfed again. You are never getting those bonuses back.

Yes, you can add bonuses via weapon skills. Guess what? So can everybody else.

So in relation, you are worse off than before. Well, at least in relation to Clan mechs, because pretty much all other IS mechs got nerfed, too.

Then you realize the Timber Wolf and Night Gyr are now juiced to the gills, with the same exact quirks.

Well, there's that and the KDK-3. The other Kodiaks got screwed in collateral damage.

Back from the dead? Probably. Back to the meta? Probably not.
Because the quirks you listed are also most likely being packed by the other meta mech builds.

How is that, really? When PGI castrated the BK it was its offensive power more than its defensive/structural quirks.

It got scaled up (it got bigger), and as a consequence simply became less durable.

When you look at all those buffs on the BK, remember that now everybody else gets the same or near enough.

So...no. My BJ-1X looks god-like on PTS, but then I remember that everybody else is tougher now, too, so net gain of zero.

I thought the Black Knight was killed by the rescale, not by its quirks.

It was killed by both. It was dependent on massive structure bonus to compensate for crap hard-point positioning, and those got nerfed. Laser range also got nerfed.

The Warhammer had obsoleted it before those nerfs, though.
