For example as you head attack the other side base a few hover tanks pop up with a few VTOL buzzing around
or in the general melle one side has a lance of Bulldog tanks while the other has two Demolishers, but no one controls them, they just seek out the opposing team.
But i agree with STEEL PROPHET let us just keep the basic mechs for now

Hah! "You lost your mech? Okay. Jump in this tank and get back out there soldier. Be careful."
"You lost the tank? Uh. Well okay. We have one chopper left. Get moving and PLEASE be more careful."
"Lost the chopper didn't ya? Here's a ka-bar and a pack of mentos. You won't be coming back. Have fun!"
Heh, may not be realistic, but it would be preferable to having to spectate for the rest of a match that you're invested in.

And ask for them to add in player controlled aircraft instead of another poll on adding tanks/fighters?

By that reasoning then, why can't PGI add SimCity-like elements to the game? They are already working on city maps, and there are certainly cities in the BT universe. Why can't we, as players, have our avatars buy property, take jobs, run for mayor, solve water shortage issues, and build police stations (block-by-block ala Minecraft) in order to fight crime?
The reason is because PGI has to draw the line somewhere. And right now, that line falls short of including non-mech and NPC elements to the game. MWO is intended to be a PvP mech-combat simulator. I'd rather they focus their efforts on delivering just that.

This is one of the first, I searched the forums beforehand. And the BT universe is more than mechs... I do not know why people get so crazed at the idea of something other than mechs.

Because sim-city had nothing to do with battletech. Tanks, aerofighters and dropships do. And if you read my initial post i say that it would be good down the line... Right now i agree that PVP mech sim is the primary goal. However tanks, chopper, and fighter have been a part of many previous MW games, so why keep them out

In MWLL they tend to be overly easy to get... you can get a demolisher dual ac/20 beforre a heavy mech...
The Aerospace fighters there are insanely unbalanced as well, Ive seen ppl in non VTOL Aeriospace all but in VTOL mode and rip[ping Mechs to bits.
This is Mechwarrior Online not Treadhead Online

What I am looking forward to the most in MWO is this living breathing battletech universe. Yes it is called mechwarrior, but previous mechwarrior games also had NPC tanks, aerofighters and turrets.
At the moment the devs have others things to focus on, but NPC assets are a must have in order to make the game feel more alive, to make you feel like you are in a war.
Running around destroying other players is fun but it can also start getting lonely and boring if you dont get this sense of an entire universe is out there, with people that we are fighting for or fighting against.
I mean imagine entering the battle field and you hear and see aero fighters flying over head. In the distance you see tanks blowing the hell out of each other and missile turrets are blocking out the sun with there payload......that is immersive gaming and my dream for MWO.
