EDIT : By some weird accident, this Thread did NOT end up in "General Discussion" as intented . I already asked MODs to please move it . Apologies .

Hi.

Dont know whether this is the proper Section, but since it probably is the most read, I may get some informed and helpfull response here the fastest Posted Image . Google Search as well as Forum Search did not return me any usefull results, hence I am tryin here...

So, questions:

1) Is the 64bit Client actually working ? How do I make it so that the Standalone Client uses it ? Used to be you select it in the settings of the Launcher, does these days simply launching through the 64bit.exe do it ?

2) Does this:
http://mwomercs.com/...-download-13gb/

actually work for the SkillTree PTS when installing PTS through the portal, or would it be better to FIRST install PTS, THEN portal ?

3) How can I tell the Portal to use the 64bit Client ( if it is actually valid/working ) ?

Thanks in advance .

I'm pretty sure it is working, since I use it by default (Steam uses it by default, unless told otherwise). In regards to the PTS, I am using the PTS client through their new MWO Portal and that uses it by default as well (there actually isn't an option to manually force the 32-bit client).

I think it may work, but you'll still have to download more content through the Portal/PTS because there are certainly some obvious differences in data.

AFAIK, the previous PTS patcher/launcher tries to install the MWO Portal anyways before it downloads/installs the PTS content.

If you're trying to save download time, just run the PTS launcher so it installs MWO Portal, then you probably want to copy some of the current game data and copy that to the PTS folder (you really have to know what you are doing before you do this) and then let the MWO Portal do its thing.

If you're trying to do a "clean install", you should uninstall the older MWO PTS (you will have to do it through Add/Remove Programs) and possibly uninstall the previous MWO Portals (only if you are using the older Tourney Client - you won't have to do this if you already/currently use the MWO Portal for the game) and then install from there (with a 15GB download no less, best to do it overnight).

It will automatically do it (there is no choice to select/force the 32-bit client). If you're unsure, you can run it in Windowed mode (the version you are using, 32 or 64-bit will be shown) or use Task Manager (you may have to use control+alt+delete to bring it up) to verify it being a 64-bit app (32-bit apps have a star next to the program's/executable's name).
