Been looking for a while but haven't found a solution yet.
Installed Portal on Win10 / 64bit german / Windows Defender
Selected PT Client and pressed Install
There is a dialog box that says starting installation that is immediatly ovverriden by a message, that "the installation packet could not be opened ...."

I am supecting, that I have a defective Portal installation and want to reinstall properly. Portal is not popping up in my "Install/Uninstall Program" and just deleting it won't do the trick and claiming "MWO POrtal already installed".

Any clues?

Having the same issue. Wanted to do a clean install, due to error message when trying to run program. Do not see MWO portal in my Uninstall program list. So I pressed MWOPortalinstaller. And now I get a message, "MWO portal is already installed." So, I go do registry, deleting MWO stuff, reboot and still have problems. This portal program is messed up. Their is no repair software, uninstall, clean install options. Guess I will have to wait until next month or never.

Found a fix.

Go into Regedit. Noticed registries (MWO Portal) is also under "HK_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Wow6432Node"

You will see "Piranha Games"

Delete folder "Piranha Games". Close Regedit, and reinstall.

Can not begin to explain what a pet peeve of mine it is to have to manually clean up registry. Only way I could get it to work also, thank you GuardDogg for explaining it to everyone.

Has anyone figured out how to uninstall this yet? There is no option to do so from my investigations. I just want to remove it completely. sorry for necroposting

Thank you, you saved me probably another hour of trouble and searching. This worked. Hello from spring 2020.
