Blame Escort.
Since Canyon doesn't support Escort, you see Canyon much less often.

Bring back HPG and Mining. And yes - stop pushing Escort. No one wants it. It wins maybe 1 time in 10, if it's put up against Conquest.

While Canyon is probably one of the best maps we have, I personally would like to see it given a pass over to improve the map slightly up to current standards. Cover adjustment, slight retooling of the static 2 layer elevation across the map, and generally just aesthetic upgrades.

Agreed though, would love to play canyon more often.

Yes. HPG and Canyon need a makeover. Good maps, I'm just so sick of looking at them, so plain and drab.

Still though, I don't know how you guys aren't getting matches. Canyon and HPG win every time for me if they aren't up against each other.

Seriously? I still see HPG, Canyon, and Mining Collective all the time, mostly because when they do show up in the vote, they win, full stop.

The best thing about Escort is that it excludes those maps occasionally, which increases map diversity, which is awesome. Though Crimson Strait probably pops a bit too often.

canyon hpg and mining are easily the best maps in game in terms of layout, with canyon being the best in my opinion. frankly i hope they do nearly nothing to all 3 when they 'update' them. They took frozen city and crapped all over it, from a brawly city map to snipe fest across a valley. somthing like they did to viridian would be good, minor tweaks and face lifts.

Canyon remains the best map in game so far for just about every thing. Lrms can have fun along side the ppfd metas and the just installed player. No long walks, no one piece of terrain dominating the rest of map, no crapy random objects or buildings and it shouldn't be messed with except for fixing invisible walls,holes in the ground or badly placed spawn points.

Canyon is my favorite map because it is so simple a map there are a lot of ways you can play on it unlike alpine or polar.

Escort is by far my favorite gamemode, but it's not worth giving up matches on Canyon.

...Though, watching the VIP trying to navigate the canyons would be hilarious.

Alpine is unarguably the WORST map still in MWO to date. Don't know how it usually plays out in group queue, but escort is decent in solo queue. Gets people out of the stale mid to long range hide and poke meta.

How in the world did the forums whine hard enough to get PGI to keep Alpine when they said they'd remove it for Polar and yet we let old Frozen City and old Forest Colony slip away?

You could have just let them take alpine too while they were at it.

They should just stop with the stupid voting altogether.I've been away from the game for months, played 1 escort match,it was ok but it was still basically deathmatch.
I dunno much about the new pilot skill stuff either but the game did feel a bit stale.Some new mechs,same old same old.
Still at it's core there's nothing quite big stompy mechs shooting each other.
